Buffallo is basic right!

NFL has for fumbles

Numbers -> how many times did player fumble (muff is also fumble statistic), independent of result
Lost -> this is only for player with fumble -> was ball lost to other team (if recovery by own team member is not lost for statistic)

Rec -> this is for any player, how many even own fumbles he recovered

So Stats line should be:

Fumbles:
Ennis Richards 2 Fumbles, Lost 1, Fumble recoveries 1
Stevie Collins 2 Fumbles, Lost 0, Fumble recoveries 2

So you can have:

Turtle 1: 1 Fumble, 0 Lost, 0 Recovery
-> He had fumble but his colleague recovered so no turnaround

Turtle 2: 3 fumble, 3 Lost, 1 Recovery
-> He had 3 fumble and all 3 lost to opponent, but in other occassion where Turtle 1 fumbled he recovered the ball and saved team from turnaround

When you look at player stats though Turtle.. check the fumble recovery leaders...

They do not mention offensive players.

This is correct!

I was talking about official game report of each game and there you will find everything, even own recovery by offensiv players and Buffalo had the lines from a single game report.

But you are right and when it comes to overall season statistics then ONLY the fumble recovered from OPPONENT (so most times by defensive players) are the one reported and counted to "crown the fumble recovery master". In this total statistics no ones is interested in "own fumble recoveries", well then only in fumbles lost for offensive players

This is right. On NFL.com they have for offense players Fumbles lost.

At RZA we have not this stat until now. So the easiest way would be to add fumble recoveries for offense players. The more complicate way would be the way described by turte, with adding fumbles lost in the stats.

And this was the problem with it as it was a while ago... when you checked your stats, your team leaders at fumble recoveries were you own backs, as the game recorded their fumble recoveries in their own career stats.

If it is to be fixed, why not fix it properly, rather than revert it to the previous wrong format

But the fumble recoveries of a RB are not shown in the defense stats. So it will be no problem to distingush.

If you have a look at your stats and see that your RB fumbles 10 times but recovers only twice, than you could think that he is a threat for your own offense.

I still think it would be much better to see a RB's stats say Fumbles/Fumbles Lost

Rather than just assume they are always recovering their own fumbles.

It is back to front if it says Fumbles/Fumbles Recovered by a RB's stats.

To have it clear we need i think:

On Offense/Return

Fumble -> Player was carrying the ball (after handoff or after catch or after KickOff/Punt catch) and fumbled the ball

Fumble lost -> Player fumbled the ball and it was recovered from opponent (turnover)

On Defense

Fumble recovered -> Player recovered a fumbled ball for a turnover
