I've just read the manual, but could somebody please confirm this ....

Due to an injury, I'm short at KR. I'm thinking of playing a Gunner at KR.
At first I was going to put an RB at KR (seems more of a natural fit), but then I thought that as I have a Special Teams coach, it might make more sense to switch (temporarily) the most suitable Gunner to KR in order to still get the in-match advantage of the ST coach.

If I do that, do you think that makes sense ?

I wouldn't do that

Gunners are more comparable to SF, CB or even LBs...

KR are like HB or even FB, a TE or WR would fit better than a gunner...

Just my opinion

Surely it isn't good idea - gunner is the player who stops the opponent and is most similar to DB or maybe OLB.
KR is carrying the ball so use there your reserve RB(or eventually one of this position Pete mentioned).

It's interesting ........

(1) my best RB is a guy from the Draft who I've converted from a KR, so playing him at KR would be a no-brainer .... he'll do the job, but he won't get the ST bonus.

(2) I've just fed the stats for the most suitable Gunner as KR into Texat1suf's spreadsheet ... the Gunner looks just as good at KR as my current best KR. So that would work .....however, I've also fed in the stats for my RB, and he'd be way way better than probably anyone at KR.

So, I've got one conclusion ..... even though both my KR's are young and have alot of potential to improve, maybe I should have been playing my RB at KR all the time.

However, I don't like the idea of having non-KR's and non-Gunners playing at those positions for two reasons ....
(a) I've got a ST coach, so a well-developed KR/G + coach bonus would be hard to beat.
(b) I think there's got to be quite a big hit to PC when you're playing an RB at both RB and KR, or a CB at Gunner.

For tonight's game though ...maybe the RB will be playing at KR too

Really? How much difference is it really going to make? The max kick return has been 25 as stated in the other posts. I doubt it would make that drastic of a loss of yards gained. If you have one of those well rounded types who are in the 30's for physicals and double digits in tackle and carry then I see nothing really wrong with it.
