If (after I max my stadium natch) I get myself a 90% coach in say Running Backs - is there anything to stop me setting all my youth players to Running Back to get the coach bonus and then change back to another position before they promote (or even after if you accept the TC penalty).

Manual says
Coaches affect the training

Each AC affects the training of those players he is responsible for coaching (defined by the players' position!). Of course this only valid for skills the player is using on his position.

Presumably this limits it then to particular skills. How do you know what skills are valid as a HB would use all physicals, carry, pos, vision, possibly footwork in fact everything other than passing and tackling.

Also manual says

What happens if I refuse to use these Coaches?

Your team will perform worse during games, compared to a team that has Coaches

How does this work ? I thought if I hired a coach ... all my other coach positions drop from 50%. Therefore although my HBs get better in games, everyone else gets worse which makes the above statement a bit misleading - unless I've misunderstood.

I use my 96 RB coach this way, and it works fine - you can move youths in the academy as often as you like.

Str/Spd/Carry/Vision/Agility for sure -probably Pos. You can easily test Footwork or others by training them and tracking the improvement, and comparing it to past improvements in known valid skills.

I think the formula is set up so that 51 is where you start to see positive results. AC of 50 is never a positive result - just a small negative. But someone with math skills will know!

This is one of the areas where having a very strong AC is helpful. My academy trains Str with my 88 OL AC, and Speed with my 96 RB AC.

Thanks ...

Something to think about for the draft. I guess drafting players that are hard to train (skills not covered by your potential high AC/S) is an approach as it may be the only way you can get these players.

As would be signing completely contrasting 90+ ACs like OL and CB which should cover a lot of bases.

Two smart !

Also - training PC up over 100% will get you on the winning track fast. (Of course, if you are working on a good draft position, ignoring PC is a good way to keep you off the winning track.)
