Please read this thread to know the background to this suggestion.

The basic problem (as I see it) ....there is absolutely no incentive whatsover to promote to 1.1 and then to remain in 1.1.
The only incentive is to play the best teams .... but from any other perspective (financial etc) ...there seems to be little upside and plenty of downside to being in 1.1 .

Therefore, rather than some ideas to 'punish' teams that are deliberately losing or punish teams that deliberately remain in 2.x .... I think it would be a better idea to try to add incentives for teams to want to promote to 1.1 and then to stay in 1.1 ........ therefore here is my 'package of suggestions' :-

(1) A 'once-only' promotion Bonus for all teams that promote to 1.1 .
The bonus of $30 Million would be paid once only to each unique Team/Manager combination i.e. if team Northern Riviera/Manager sh8888 promoted next year to 1.1 he would be paid $30 million ... if he then relegated the next year and re-promoted the year after he would NOT get a promotion bonus for the 2nd time ...the reason for doing this is to prevent teams promoting just to get the bonus season after season.(i.e. promote/relegate/promote/relegate etc)

(2) A 'cap percentage' on Stadium attendances for the 2.x and 3.x (eventually) Divisions. The cap would be 75% for 2.x and 50% for Div 3.x ..... e.g. Imagine a game in 2.1, if the 'normal' attendance calculation gives 140,000 ....the cap percentage is applied and the actual 'adjusted' attendance would be 140,000 x 0.75 = 105,000 .
The cap percentage would apply to all competitive games, but not to Friendlies (remains the same calculations as now).
In the SuperCup, the scheduling for home/away would be done based upon the stadium capacity less cap percentage i.e. a 1.1 team with 140000 stadium playing a 2.2 team with 144,300 stadium ... the 1.1 team would be at home (i.e. the 2.2 team's stadium is treated as 144,300 * 0.75 = 108,225 for scheduling purposes).

(3) Each league win/Supercup win would give a team a 'win bonus' (Sponsor win bonus is different...don't confuse this !).
The Win Bonus would be $1 Million per League win, and $750,000 per SuperCup win...... same also for CofC matches etc (a money level to be decided).
The 'win bonus' would be reduced by the 'cap percentage' (see above) ... so 2.x teams would get $1 Million * 0.75 = $750,000 for a League win etc.

(4) Because of the introduction of the 'win bonus' (see above), the 'end-of-season prize money' would seem devalued, therefore I'd suggest increasing all prize values by a factor of 3 (taken from manual, see below).

So, for example, CofC winner would go from $10 million to $30 Million etc

from Manual :-
"Prize Money
League Bowl Winner: 2,000,000
Conference Champions: 1,000,000

Champ of Champs Winner: 10,000,000

Global Bowl: 5,000,000"

i need to read it again so i understand this 100%

what I'm trying to do is :-

(a) provide an incentive for teams to want to Promote to 1.1
(b) provide an incentive for teams to want to stay in 1.1

this NEEDS to happen, if not teams will just 'hide' in 2.x because it's easy to do (and often advantageous to do).

I'm seriously thinking of relegating to 2.x myself and staying there for 4 or 5 seasons .... there is nothing for me in 1.1 at the moment, so why not 'reap the rewards' of 2.x ?

Sh"eigth"

Basic i like your suggestions but this one imo is one give big disadvantage to new teams and makes gap bigger

Main reason is: there is only room for 32 teams in 1.1 and good managers in 2.x level can face competition, not be able to promote for 1-2 seasons and because of this have financial disadvantage and make this teams lose more and more distance to 1.1 Teams level

Sure i do not like the current system where intentional loss is rewarded - please its no offense to anyone, its my personal view! I also prior to first game day this season flip coin if to lose intentionall in league or to fight, so this is why this season i will fight

I dont have idea to suggest but hopefully others come up with a nice one

Yes, that's what I'm trying to avoid i.e. 'the rich get richer' scenario ....but there is a need to make 1.1 attractive to get teams to want to promote ... however, one quick suggestion .....maybe give new Managers a "credit note" on a sliding scale ... e.g. promote first season - get $50 million, promote 2nd season get $25 Million etc ..... this is yet another of my "sliding-scale ideas" !!!!

Me too ...I like this game, but there are one or two parts that probably need a shake-up ...some ideas/suggestions in this general area (incentives to "not lose" etc) would be great

How about more money from sponsors? At the same time, when 3.x is introduced, they get a lesser amount than 2.x.

Pete could limit ChampOfChamps to 1.1 teams. It's a small step. (Okay. Very SMALL step.)
