You can decide to give up the SC and take the money or you can gain experience as coach of your team. You can try to improve your DC and Playbook to beat other teams.

I think this is the issue Pete, if some 15-0 teams won't make the POs what is the incentive to keep on trying for a team starting 0-2?

Money! The SCDivisiongames are part of the economical basics...

Experience! 15 games extra...

But if you wanna make it to the KO, you have to be exceptional good - this includes PD as well...

I think I didn't express my point properly because that's not what I meant. I understand that teams earn money in the SC and that players gain experience... however, a team gets the money and the players get the experience whether the team wins or loses so my question should have been "what is the incentive to try to win your SC games once you know you won't make the POs?"

The problem isn't that weaker teams have no chance of winning the SC, it's that the competition results will get skewed by teams giving up and playing on Relaxed. For example, say I play Team A week 1 and try my best but lose by 20pts, then week 5 I play Team B which is just as strong as Team A but because I know I'm out of the PO race I play on Relaxed and lose by 70pts. Team B just got an advantage of 50 PD over Team A simply because I don't have any incentives to try to win or even simply try my hardest. See what I mean?

It is not only "win all or nothing". If a team survives the division round, it can play additional games for huge money and experience. So even if you can't win the whole thing, there is a benefit of being in the KO-round of the supercup

And it will even beocme worse with the current system because there will be a day where not even a 16-0 team will have secure spot in playoffs

Because of this you will be even proved wrong, because just one loss will be enough to give up playing the supercup with the first team
