Ok, in the Hall of Fame tab, one pull down is tackling. More tackles, higher on the list.

It's really seems by looking at the results, the results are in reverse order.

Meaning, the better teams have FEWER tackles than the bad teams.

So, really, the team with the FEWEST tackles should be on the top of the list.

Just saying...

The team with the fewest tackles is also not the best team.

The best stat would be the good tackles/missed tackles-ratio.

It is HoF...so it is not about best or worse or whatever...the most tackles make it. As clear as Klosbrühe...to me at least

Right now more tackles usually indicates a worse team only because the better team has offense on the field longer. Those tackle number mean more when teams are fairly even.

Tackling is an absolute statistical number, agreed

If tackling is supposed to represent anything relevant, like a teams defense ability, then I would say it is not very relevant

Not to quarrel here, but those of us who are into defensive systems would really like a "better" statistic than tackles. As just noted above by another poster (that 49er, I reckon) may tackles/missed tackles percentage, or fewest points scored against might be a better measure.

I'm not sure Tackles by itself is a relevant number. imho

I think "tackles" are usually represented among common statistics, whatever their value may be.

However, I agree with you there are better stats to rank effective defenders, such as "fumbles forced" and "fumbles recovered". I've argued before they should be included in the stats section imo.
