Finally: we promised you would get a chance to test and learn the new engine before it goes "hot" for league and cup games...and we usually keep our promises...

Here my opinion to the original topic. I belive a hard salary cap will be harder to manager and many teams will loose good players, because they hit the cap. The "soft" cap (limited by the income) allow you to be one or two seasons above your income, but you will reach the point were you have to manage the salaries.

The other point in this thread was the roster limit. I don't know, were the 45 players comes from.

The roster limit in the regular season is 53 players in the NFL. Additional every team can have up to 8 players on the practice squad.

Pete was so gracious to allow 55 players on gameday and additional 15 players for you "practice squad".

I think 45 maybe comes from the previous NFL limit of 45 active players on gameday (45 plus an 'emergency' QB) .... although I think this rule has recently been changed to 46 by dropping the 'emergency QB' rule).

What do you think is maximum possible rating for the team. Best teams already achieved 54(maybe some can set 55, maybe 56 by removing weaker reservers?). What do you think is level which would be hard to pass? Is it 75, 80? Would like to know your opinions. I suppose it's possible to build a team above 90, but I wrote before about the one we can survive financially with(having solid coaching staff, facilities, maxed youth academy, scout etc.).

I think 70 will be outstanding.

At the moment 70 is fine but as teams get better and more developed you will find the number of players teams have will drop substantially. Probably to around the 50-60 region.

Well, for now 50 is fine. Never seen anyone at 55(54,8 was highest I've seen, I confess I don't look at other leagues so often last weeks).
Thanks for your opinions.

Even so ... can't agree with you on the players.

Think teams will always have around 70 just the bottom end of the roster will be purely development players.
