For those in Contract Mode I would like to see contracts for coaches also.

Then if you wish to fire a coach towards the end of the season you could let his contract wind down instead and let him go for nothing.

I actualy thought this was the way it worked, until today when i started to hire my coaching staff for the first time, my HC signed and i realized there is no negotiation option available.

Since we have Offense/Defense/ST where the Hr departement is working with, why not add the coaches to? Logical in my opinion, but for it not to be like that i bet you there might be a twist somewhere.

Either way, i agree.

+1

Will there be a penalty for failing to re-negotiate a new contract (5x salary?) or will this give managers a way to get rid of managers by failing to re-sign them?

I would presume it would be the same as a player. If you decide with 5 or more weeks to go you arent going to keep him then there is no difference really. I'm not sure in the NFL but I have seen it countless times in football (soccer to some) with a manager on a contract that expires at the end of the season they let it run out instead of paying compensation

My opinion, you make a bid on a coach, the coach signs with your team that one year contract just like players, if you do not go to the Hr to negotiate his contract he will walk away after one season.

If you use the Hr to make a long term contract but both parts cannot come to an agreement when trying to negotiate a contract he will be the team coach until his one season bidding contract finishes.

If you have a coach that is already signed and his contract his finishing and you try to renegotiate an extension but no agreement is reached, that coach will stay until the end of his current contract.

If you want to fire a coach that is under contract the team has got to be penalized both in oaying a cash fee to the coach and in TC at least, now to what extent i do not know, i am just now hiring my coaching staff so i do not know the penaltys for firing at this point.
