This thread is for you to (try and!) objectively review the NFL Division that means the most to you (ie your team plays in it) - give a review of all 4 teams, overviews of their schedule, and finally predict the standings along with records - lets see who is most accurate come the Regular Season end!

I will have the 'pleasure' of reviewing the NFC EAST - will go in alphabetical order :

DALLAS COWBOYS

I hate this team. With a passion. But guided by my own rules i will do my best to review them with my head, rather than my fists - or heart.

OK - first up, Dallas must be the most underachieved team in the last decade. For Liverpool in the English Premier League, read Dallas in the NFL. Every season we hear 'this is it - this is the season we go all the way' blah blah blah blah BLAH. Every season you choke you useless bunch of cretins! And i dont care how great your stadium is - you are chokers!!

The truth is though - i dont know why. They shouldnt do. Is it all on Tony Romo? Is he as good - or indeed as bad - as people make him out? Theyve had some fine running backs over recent seasons - always had a decent WR corps (apart from when they signed Roy Williams from Detroit) and in jason Witten one of the most consistent all round Tight Ends you could ask for. Defensively as well theyve had the weapons - punkass, big headed but scary good LB DeMarcus Ware, CB Terence Newman....all big names but as a unit failed to deliver.

As for the choke reference? 7-4 going into December last season and in control of a poor NFC East - they lose 3 from 4 and STILL can win the last game to take the division. They get mullered 14-31 to the Giants - and we know where they went from there.

This season, they have a rough schedule and alot will depend on their start, as they have a brutal run in. I expect a similar season from the so called Nations Team....one week lamentable, one week ordinary, one week scary good. Should put plenty points on the board - can they keep em out at the other end?

NEW YORK GIANTS

Does anyone agree with me that this is the most overated team EVER? How the hell have they won 2 Superbowls in the last 5 years? I watch repeats knowing the scoreline and i still expect the Patriots to beat them! Both times!

Tom Coughlin is a bellend. That is a fact. Unfortunately, he is a lucky SOB of a bellend. That man must have been some kind of warlock or arch-mage in a previous life because how this team has won the playoff games it has is simply beyond me. They have no one of note. Eli Manning usually looks like he's about to burst into tears every time someone looks his way, Ahmad Bradshaw and (dont make me say his name - and yeh i know hes gone now) the other one arent a good RB if pushed together, and the only thing their WR corps are good for are great scores at scrabble! Yet they find play after play after play....and win games by hook or crook. Sign of a great team or that all important term in NFL parlances....a clutch team if ever there was one.

This season who the hell knows. I still say their Defensive Line aside (John Paul Pierre is an absolute monster) they have the weakest roster, player for player, in the NFC East. But quantifying their season? Sheesh....well again, it looks a rough run in - last 6 games are Packers, Redskins (we ran the series last year so shut up!) Saints, Falcons, Ravens and Eagles....not easy. I think this year they will be put in their place some.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

I hate the Cowboys with a passion - seriously dislike the Giants - the Dirty Birds are somewhere in the middle of them. Is detest about right? Maybe. But every season this team scares me more than any other as they COULD - could - run away with an NFL season and win the Superbowl at a canter. But they dont. Thank all deities listening. But they will one season...could it be this year?

Alot will obviously depend on Mike 'i picked up an injury brushing my teeth - ill be out for 4-6 weeks, schedule dependant' Vick. At best he is unplayable. Usually, he'll skin you for a few plays, but he'll give you a chance. Sometimes, he is very ordinary. But then you have Shady McCoy. Arguable the best all purpose RB in the NFL. Certainly in the top few. Vick has plenty of targets to pick from - DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant....last season they made waves after signing monster Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha...but it made little difference as they got off to an awful start (3-6 from first 9 games) and despite a late season rally they never truly threatened the top. Losing at the likes of the Cardinals, Seahawks and Bills will do that.

This season you have to think they'll be better and stronger and more of a team and a unit. Schedule wise it looks pretty manageable - a naughty stretch in and around their bye week will look pivotal to their season (Giants, Steelers, Lions, BYE, Falcons, Saints). But i wouldnt be surprised to see the carrion pickers top the NFC East this season.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS

Ahhhh my beloved Redskins. Since 1983/84, when you got trounced by Marcus Allen and Jim Plunkett have you been my team...and for pretty much all those 30 odd years, its been a trial the likes of which Job in the Bible would have struggled to endure. The Doug Williams and Mark Rypien seasons apart of course....and my all time greatest ever player #28....Darrell Green.

But anyway, enough sentiment. To business, and behold the Messiah, R G III - for whom the Skins sold their soul and the next 32 years draft picks to finally get a franchise QB worthy of the shirt. Are all our prayers answered? All our problems solved?

Not at all likely.

First up, RGIII will need to have gazelle like feet to avoid the pass rushers who will blitz him play after play, as the Redskins paper like Offensive Line folds origami like. Trent Williams will need to come back fit and healthy and damn quick if RG III will have anything like the time needed to make plays. The backfield remains a mess. Clinton Portis hasnt been close to being replaced, and we now rely on some permutation of Roy Helu, Evan Royster and Tim Hightower (played, released, re signed - good old Washington) - none will strike fear into the hearts of opposing defences. Our WR corps has improved, from being Santana Moss, to Santana Moss plus Pierre Garcon. Watch out for Leonard hankerson to make an impact as well. Fred Davis could be one of the leagues most underrated TEs around, and Chris Cooley remains on the periphery....but Washington, unless RGII does a Cam Newton, will continue to stuggle to put scores on the board. Not ONCE last season did they score 30 points plus...and in half of their games they scored less than 20 points. Not good.

Defensively Washington remain solid if not spectacular. We keep (usually) offenses honest, with an array of fine defensive players - Ryan Kerrigan, Brian Orakpo, London Fletcher to name but a few. I was gutted to see LaRon Landry go - and we have never got over the loss of Sean Taylor (RIP) a future Hall of Famer if ever there was one.

An impotant Special Team and the desperate signing of kicker Neil Rackers means all in all its hard to see much improvement from my boys this season. BUT we did the double over the Giants last season, and a very manageable schedule plus you have to think there will be some impact from RGIII....maybe...just maybe. We need to be no worse than 4-4 from our first 8 games to have any chance of something like a season...anything less and it could be a nice draft pick to lose to the Rams for next season....

OVERALL PREDICTION

1. Philadelphia Eagles 11-5
2. Dallas Cowboys 10-6
3. Washington Redskins 8-8
4. New York Giants 7-9
