It's just a raw idea, but what if transfer market mechanism would be based not on "pure" money offers, but on contract offers. So people make contract offers and the one who makes the best offer wins an auction. As now it would be related only for free agents.

I think we had already a discussion on the test stage. The idea was declined, because it is difficult to say, which contract is better. The other negative point was, that this system is more difficult, because managers must calulate more and be more careful, before they offer a contract. I think many managers would run into trouble, because they are not careful enough and don't have a longterm plan.

The more money you offer to player, the better your contract is, isn't it? |

It is difficult, because you can offer the player a contract for 1,2,3 or 4 years. Is a franchise contract with 20k$/season better than a one year contract with 19k$/per season? |

Obviously yes The first sum will be much bigger than the second |

If there will be only trades (player with existing contract to player with existing contract), signing free agents (best contract offer wins), drafting players and promoting youths from academy (the last two modes would somehow become one) financial component of game strategy will be totally different. |
