I think the current system makes it easy to play risky with small roster because it does not need lot luck to go through season even without any injury

A skillful manager would create depth so that the drop off isn't huge.

This is kind of why I'd like to see a few more...

You have people who rabbit on about "real life" in other threads concerning parts of this game yet one of the most unrealisticly handled aspects, injuries, they say no to....it's too random to have injuries.

Well guess what we need more injuries, more nigglies or day to day type stuff. Or gameday injuries to carry over from the game. It is a part of American football that no team can avoid. Injuries by their nature are random. You see some guys get totally pulverized and you think " how is that sucker still alive" then a another player snaps his hammy in the open field.

The NFL each team is likely to see 25% attrition rate throughout a season from day to day type stuff to extended time out all the way up to season ending injuries. Managers have to deal with this sort of stuff and be prepared as best they can. Otherwise this game will just become whose been here longer wins game like all the others.

I also bet the injury deniers are type of people who turn injuries off if playing games like Madden or some such.

As far as other suggestions along this line you could add another physical skill called "toughness" that people can train and players can also get increases from through playing games like they do experience as they get football hardened. Toughness then is the basis on how likely a player gets injured and to what severity it is. Then at some age point (29 slight, 30 a bit more etc) they start to lose toughness and they become more injury prone as they age and this then could link into their retirement age. This skill should not be capped by any measure and be "trainable" to the current max of 50. So coaches can take coem of the "randomness" out of their team by training this skill up and reducing their injury chances.

Should the frequency of injuries be increased I do like the idea of having toughness. Although I'd prefer to see it more as a trait kind of like:

'Toughness: This player is 5% less likely to pick up an injury'

Something like that. Or perhaps like intel/tw, rather than a trainable skill...

I love the idea, but it drives me crazy.

I Recently lost my starting QB, star WR and 2 of my startiing DTs to long term injuries in another online american football sim...one week before the playoffs.

Toughness should be kept as a non trainable skill like TW and Intel imo...some people are generally more injury prone than others

And those visiting the Broncos are usually laid up for a few days afterwards with midge bites

lmao for sure. Getting a bit late in the year for them now though. You can see the swarms of them hiding in the bushes waiting for the wind to die down before charging on their victims, eating as much as they can before the wind blows them into oblivion...or worse...the rain drowns the little bassa's

Back on topic...i can see it now...Broncos QB out for the season with a bad reaction to midge bite

I'll probably get shot for suggesting this but I think it'd be nice to see a few more injuries...

I am a stickler for realism in the simulation of the game with few exceptions. This is and is not one of them.

I think injuries should reflect real life for the season proper, but after the season's last game, no more. That would mean that by the time a team reached the GB or SB, they should be injury free and such games would not be effected by simple random injuries.

But with CofC this is unworkable so......................

I would not increase the injuries during the training. What do you think about gameending injuries, which could result in longer injuries for some weeks?

You want more realism? What is with season ending or carrere ending injuries? I think nobody want so much realism!

More injuries during the training? May be you can s e l e c t between different trainings intesities. Hard= more trainingsprogress, more injuries; normal= status quo; relaxing= less trainingprogress, less injuries

Is this to much -TOG-? May be here it would be usefull. If you are out of the playoff race, than train hard train your player faster for the next season, but take the risk of more injuries. You face a tough game, than train relaxed to prevent injuries of your stars.

We see many players leave the field injured during games but most of the time they come back on. How about if the injury reflects on their PC and should it drop below a certain level it increases the chances of longer term injuries
