Yeah, right now, rightly or wrongly, my philosophy is to concentrate on 1 20yo per season. And then either sell the other 20yo or add them to my roster where appropriate.

The situation is very dynamic.

Once you have ~ 20 youths in the YA, you need to come up with ways to make space for exceptional pulls or others you pick up from the TA. If you don't sell them fast enough then you either need to burn a promotion or let a youth go directly to the senior squad which you basically don't want. You need to leave enough spots open for this, but what do you do when there's a ton of great talented youth on the TM and you start winning a lot of them?

I am still working this out!

I've had this problem for a long time, it doesn't get any easier as the seasons go on. I guess it's a nice dilemma to have too many good players, but it still makes for some tough choices.

2, each to their own some like 1 draft quality player out of the YA others like 2-4 rounded players not as good but more of them.

I do think that trying to build six players a season is a mistake though. You just don't have enough YA points to go around.

I have usually found that caps on at least 3 of them are nowhere near good enough so I tend to let them benefit from weekly training and try to sell them on when the time comes. That then gives me 3 I can blast the majority of my points into.

I stagger the points used by age with the least going to the 16 year olds etc.

Yeah, nothing wrong with spending HC points on players that might not end up on your roster!

I think with this upcoming draft, many of the draft picks will not be instant starters on most of the top teams. They may eventually, but probably not from day one.

It is true.
I have 1 starter, 1 backuper and 1 backuper/reserv player from the last draft.

So already younger teams will close the gap a little bit with each draft. I still think it will probably take 3-4 years before many of them are competitive.

I don't think so. Backupers in top teams are EQ to top players in young teams. And top team can by strong lpayers from the draft.
For example.
This seasons I has add 5 draftees.
3 from the draft.
2 from the transfer, they are join into YA, upgraded to level of my strong starters.
I think younger teams are more far from me.

Also, as top teams start dealing with salary issues, their overall strength wouldn't grow as fast. Additionally, I'm sure older teams start dumping some of their players which might find their way to younger teams.

For example.
My profit for next season must to be ~70 mil. For 24 weeks. (W/o bonuses and PO)
So, for "black zero" balance players' wages must grow by 3 millions!
It isn't so close moment.

Yeah blowing upto 10 points a week on 16 and 17 year olds really makes a difference to the 6 19 year olds on my roster. Anyway Pete said because you joined a month after me I have to be wasteful to allow you to catch up.

I'll tell my 18 year old thats uncapped with 42.9 Speed to give me those points back shall I? And I have yet to fire a 16 or 17 year old I sell them if they dont work out.
