Its raining here now thats helped widen the gap too

A lot of players bemoan the fact that the best teams are getting better. No one ever seems to mention that a skillful intelligent player can help to close the gap by making good decisions. To be honest I am starting to have my fill of it. Instead of looking at sfniner, majalorca pigs, mighty magpies et al concentrate on catching the best side in your division (this can be done within a season), then the conference then league, repeat the process when promoted and before you know it you are up there with the big boys in the game.

The last time I checked Usain Bolt did not learn to walk on the Monday and by the Saturday he was winning olympic gold at london 2012.

If you want to see achievement before hard work buy a dictionary if you want to earn your achivements through hard work log on to RZA again tomorrow.

Well said.

Its funny how effort directly seems to affect the likelihood of success.

I've been here exactly one season and feel like I'm making huge progress. I have a solid running game, maxed out my stadium and just bought a franchise QB on the TM. I was one game off the 2.1 Sea Devil's Bowl, improved all the positions on my roster and have started to plan for the future. I've probably spent at least an hour on here everyday since signing up, getting to grips with the system. Anyone see a possible link to the results that I've been having?

Again, small steps first.

You have two options in my mind to be the best.

1) You can try the same things as everyone else to move up the rankings. This strategy isn't new and although its more structurally sound, it will take a while to get up to scratch. People have a head start due to being here longer, and for that's the way it should be.

2) You can test different things out to see if you can find a way to win that nobody else has yet. You will have a harder time getting there, but it might mean you can win against better rosters because you've nailed your roster and playbook.

I hate this "Oh but I'm not winning NOW" attitude. This game is a challenge. It is what makes most of us come back day after day. Rather than just moaning about it, put your toys back into the pram and start trying to develop a strategy.

If you aren't winning games against the better teams, you drop down a league to your correct level again. Yes, in some Supercup matches at the start you get smashed. I accepted that I wouldn't be able to win the competition so used it to rest key players and try out new playbooks to try and help my League performance. The result being that I beat a few decent teams that have been here longer than myself in the regular season.

There is only so much money in the game and as more rosters get better, money will start to run out. There is a ceiling in regards to pure quality of players as stadiums can get so big and income cannot get any higher at that point. It all comes down to tactics then.
