what extra money? The league divides the revenue equally between teams. Merchandising, tv rights etc all goes to the league.

I confess to knowing nothing about this. Are you saying that every NFL team has the same amount of money to spend on things other than players? I find that hard to believe.

One of the poorest sides in the NFL is actually the Green Bay Packers but because of the leagues policy of youre only as strong as your weakest team it controls the major sources of income.

Almost everything is shared in the NFL.

Ticket income is split 60-40 to home-visiting team.
Luxury boxes are local income, that's why all teams want a new or renovated stadium.

As far as I know, the new CBA did change some small details to help small market teams to stay competitive, but in general the rule is, that most of the money is shared and that only small amounts (still huge numbers) are locally handled.

And most of the "extra money" from those local income is spend ... everywhere on the team. Facilities, coaches, medical service, you name it you (might) get it.

Still, for players it's still interesting to play in the better suited clubs, since the normally are more competitive, get more TV time and so the player might sell his name better.

I'm betting there are some pretty big discepancies between teams when it comes to money spent after player salary cap.

Some teams are building new domes, others are playing in ghost towns.

Of cause there are differences.
For example the Cowboys have a totally Moron as Owner.
He doesn't care how much money he has to spend, he want his team to win.
But on the other hand, he is not a stupid businessman and the Cowboys team with THAT stadium is one of the most worth team of the league (if not THE most expensive one).
So if he wants to sell one time (or his kids ...) they will get a top price for the team.

On the other hand there is the Owner of the Cincinnati Bengals, who does not like to spend much and all have to deal with that.
Also a valid startegie, but of cause the Bengals have to deal with that.
It's one of the most profitable franchise of all, but only money wise.

Getting INCOME does not automatically translate into SPENDINGS in the real world, since that money is REAL money.

Here it is a total different story.

To return a bit on topic how doubt enlarging the current AC module to the HC module? You get ~180 HC points you get to spend on a HC, OC and DC with possibly them having traits.
