Definitely a bit of a game changer.

With the 'old manual' it seemed to me that DL needed a lot more trainable skills (FW, AG, TAC, POS, VIS) than say a CB who needed just TAC, POS and VIS

so it seemed a good idea to draft DL and maybe train CBs from scratch. Now if CB can use all of these plus CATCH then that changes things a lot.

Presume that Footwork might assist tackles outside the LOS means that it does help but just not as much as it helps DL ?

Now that we know how these skills work, its up to us to find the best combinations which is the way it should be. Hopefully the engine will be good enough to allow different types of players to work effectively but differently.

Do manual changes get posted somewhere? I didn't see any news about it, and I think (since you did one about agility being the most undervalued skill in RZA) such changes should be as public as possible.

Another one was fixed, this became active with 2.0 engine

Footwork is the skill to determine how stable a guy is on his feet. Tackles and Blocks at the LOS are well supported by footwork. Tackles beside the ones on the LOS might benefit from Footwork, too.

Just a small thing:

Beside: Next to

Besides: in addition to.

So I think that should be besides

I am at a check in the background, if there are more such things. Once I am done with it I will summarize all these changes in the news. Might take some days, and hopefully I don't forget about that News-post...

@ pete

Agility/Spd/Vis/Pos dictates whether there is a collision between players.

If there is a collision, then Tackle/Str vs Carry/Str dictates whether a tackle is made or broken.

Someone said earlier that they had a LB with 100% tackling but 5 Ag but they probably don't realize that that LB was beaten cold a lot and never even laid a finger on the ball carrier.

Is this correct?

Based on these 2 skills it is just impossible to judge.

Agility looks now like this

Agility helps carrying the ball, causing fumbles, making and avoiding tackles or blocks and making or avoiding sacks. Also it helps a fumble returner or interception returner on carrying the ball back as much as possible.

I'm glad this was finally clarified....I think part of the reason that agility was under trained was due to the limited scope of the previous description.

BTW....I do find strange that agility helps causing fumbles and also doesn't seem to help with something like pass coverage (or is that all speed and tactical skills?).
