I thought that the creation of 3.x was important to keep more managers playing, and I still do. What worries me is in what league new teams decide to join. As we all know all 3.x leagues are on the same level. For those of you playing in 1.1 and might have forgotten teams from 3.1&3.2 goes to 2.1, and 3.3&3.4 joins 2.2.
With bot flush after this season all 2.1 leagues, will be filled up, and except Monarchs where 2.1 currently has 22 bots and 2.2 has 0 , all 2.2 leagues will have ~10-14 bots. Is there someway to avoid that most of the new managers join 3.1? Current distribution of teams: Admirals 2.1 - 11 bots Admirals 2.2 - 13 bots Admirals 3.1 - 13 teams Admirals 3.2 - 7 teams Admirals 3.3 - 2 teams Admirals 3.4 - 1 team Claymore 2.1 - 20 bots Claymore 2.2 - 18 bots Claymore 3.1 - 16 teams Claymore 3.2 - 6 teams Claymore 3.3 - 2 teams Claymore 3.4 - 3 teams Dragons 2.1 - 11 bots Dragons 2.2 - 18 bots Dragons 3.1 - 19 teams Dragons 3.2 - 12 teams Dragons 3.3 - 2 teams Dragons 3.4 - 6 teams Fire 2.1 - 14 bots Fire 2.2 - 18 bots Fire 3.1 - 13 teams Fire 3.2 - 7 teams Fire 3.3 - 2 teams Fire 3.4 - 6 teams Galaxy 2.1 - 13 bots Galaxy 2.2 - 18 bots Galaxy 3.1 - 17 teams Galaxy 3.2 - 4 teams Galaxy 3.3 - 3 teams Galaxy 3.4 - 6 teams Monarchs 2.1 - 22 bots Monarchs 2.2 - 0 bots Monarchs 3.1 - 17 teams Monarchs 3.2 - 3 teams Monarchs 3.3 - 1 team Monarchs 3.4 - 2 teams Sea Devils 2.1 - 17 bots Sea Devils 2.2 - 16 bots Sea Devils 3.1 - 21 teams Sea Devils 3.2 - 2 teams Sea Devils 3.3 - 0 teams Sea Devils 3.4 - 3 teams Thunder 2.1 - 14 bots Thunder 2.2 - 21 bots Thunder 3.1 - 16 teams Thunder 3.2 - 6 teams Thunder 3.3 - 3 teams Thunder 3.4 - 2 teams Last edited on 2012-12-01 12:13:08 by espen |

I would suggest some way of random botflush. meaning, after normal relegation, teams from 3.1-4 are randomly placed in 2.1 and 2.2. That should keep both leagues evenly filled.
I can understand people joining the game would want to play in a human league instead of a bot league. |

It would be good to find a solution to distribute the human players more evenly but weather its possible or not is another question.
Prehaps have all the promoted teams randomly allocated into 2.1 or 2.2. |

Over time this should all work itself out and concentrate human players in the higher leagues. New owners get a chance to start in a 3.x league and learn the ropes before being thrown to the wolves. This will likely take a few seasons however so it might not be a bad idea to make bot flush (at least from 3.x to 2.x) mandatory. It would speed the process up a lot if nothing else. |

Just for your information
I had a review on the process of selecting a team, and made some changes http://redzoneaction.org/football/docs/how_to_register_a_team_in_redzoneaction_org.pdf The preselected league is the one with the most managers in, unless there was a referalid given, and the inviting managers league has a free spot. Why? I respect your wish for balanced divisions, but I am more interested in providing real competition for new managersm and therefore we send thes managers to the most filled region / league / division by default. Btw: the relation of bots per league has nothing to do with the botflush, this botflush is working different here. |

That's what I was thinking about Pete, and not the botflush process.
I totally understand the way you're thinking, but would it be possible to prioritize 3.3 or 3.4 before 3.2, when 3.1 is filled up? |

We cannot have two criterias...at least it makes no sense from the database point of view. If we stick with the number of managers, there cannot be another sort criteria at the same time that would affect the thing somehow
