I think I vented my frustration with the removal of the "Tuck Rule" best on my fb post:

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9075058/nfl-owners-end-tuck-rule-approve-helmet-penalty Thank you to all that continue to find ways and reasons to emasculate the male half of the species! I'm sure that you are thrilled by this news, which will make the game of football no greater than making smores over a bonfire. In highschool as a sophomore, I caught a post pattern pass, but got blasted by a senior and as I was told, I flew five yards in the air and landed on the base of my neck. Because of this, I cannot play the game of golf because the swinging action will aggrevate my back and I will not be able to walk normally for at least three days. In a million years, I would NEVER wish this could be changed, do you know why? Because I didn't drop the dang ball!! If you can't handle the violence of American football, pick up your remote, and change the channel on the television!

Personally, removing the tuck rule I am okay with. Too much already benefits quarterbacks. The rule they added.... I am less fond of.

I appreciate the sentiment, NFL. In the past 10 years you have made so many rules that are unfair to the defensive side of the ball, I agree both sides should be accountable. But why do you insist on being so STUPID about it? RBs cannot lower their head? Thats how they protect themselves, lowering their shoulders to take the brunt of an impact! When your shoulders lower, your head does too! And it's not even like coaches were behind this rule, several already spoke out against it along with players, but the owners didn't even care!

I do predict a notable increase in leg/knee injuries and a newly-created problem in spinal injuries due to this new "non-safety rule." Beyond that, it just gives MORE power over the games outcome to the refs. The owners claimed coming out of the meeting that there were only five plays over the last season where it should be called. I would also bet money it is called at least 20 times throughout the upcoming season.

Honestly, this is laughable, and I respect players like Forte who are vocally standing up against it.

Right on, bv! And not only how RB's protect themselves, but also play the game of football itself: "Getting that one more yard". My prediction has to be that the statisticians will have to have a new stat called hugging. Can't tackle a player like you're supposed too, so basically being in the 'standing-up' position will look more like getting tackled for a HUG. The commentator of the game..."...and HB Jones gets tackled for HUG at the 22", and so forth...lmao, right on m8, very laughable, lol

I'm fine with the rule changes if the reefers would call the rules as stated the CROWN of the helmet not the face mask most make contact for it to be helmet to helmet even by the old rules. But the reefs can't tell the difference between a CROWN of a helmet and a face mask.

Come on if the player is looking at the ground then sure it should be penitently weather O or D at fault. But when a player has his head up a stick his face mask on the numbers a other player that good play period.

And don't get me started about the so called helmet to helmet calls where a Defensive player made a perfect tackle but called helmet to helmet because his helmet or facemask made contact after the begin hit form the player going down to the ground
