i signed a player to a 5 year franchise contract at a wage of 27,000 im guessing his skills where around 25-30 then. It was 2-3 seasons ago.

Now his skills is valued to $ 302,805/week and he is under contract untill the end of season 10.

So it can be really profitable, and im not planing to renegotiate thi deal..

Yeah, I think that franchise contract will be the last contract for my players. For example, my QB is at 40 in the main skills now, when his active contract expires I'll give him a franchise contract, train his main skills to maximum possible and even if he not retires I'll not give him a new contract

Thanks. But when folks negotiate franchise contracts, where do you start relative to their current skill-based wage? 1.5 times base salary? twice base salary? I know the multiple will be more than a 2 year, but how much more?

For current and 3 seasons I think less than 1,5 of base salary. Maybe about 1,3? For current and 4 I never did with players having high salaries, so cannot answer, but propably over 1,5.
I also believe it depends which moment of season it is. It's not about franchise contracts, but my WR refused to sign contract for current and 2 seasons at about 1,01 of estimated wage which is usually enough. But close to the end of season players usually accept their estimated salary with couple of dollars addition.

maybe im a bit high on my salaries, but rather that then lose them.

I usualy sign players with the closest 100,1000,10000 etc.
A player asking for ex:
467, then i give 500
5788, then i give 6000
431´000, then i give 440´000
