Anyone watch ESPN on Sky in the UK?
Been sent an e-mail by Sky saying it ends on 31st July but it doesn't say why although I think it's something to do with the BT buyout.
Just wondering if I'll be able to keep watching the baseball season.
Anyone know anything about this?

I think that there will still be at least one ESPN channel, probably ESPN America, and then BT is basically ESPN rebranded with most of if not all of the current content still shown on it. There's a long thread about it on the nfluk forum that explains alot of it

The problem you have is that the only way BT and Virgin can compete with Sky is to keep some of their sports channels exclusive to their customers.

Sky own the entertainment channels and keep many exclusive to sky so this is retaliation from the competition. Switching isnt an option really. Surely it's due a ruling from the OFT at some point soon seeing as they blew BT apart over telephone lines / providers

Doesn't worry me. I don't use sky anyway.

I use Virgin soon to be amalgamated with another top cable firm, can't remember the name, but internet speeds are unbelievable.

ESPN package I get is free for me with the Virgin package I have and it appears that, and about time, everyone else is saying up yours Murdoch.

It just needs the lame bastards in Whitehall to tell Sky to get stuffed and allow BT to get on in the game and Virgin to spread their service nationally.

Same problem here in Italy.
Without AF, my Sky's subscription is at risk.
