I think I remember Turtle posting about a safety happening in one of his games a couple of seasons ago, so I'm preety positive they have been in the game for quite sometime now. They are just a very rare event in a football game.

Safeties in real football are pretty rare...so you wouldn't expect too many in RZA either.
