I think from best to worst the AC North might be one of the best, in terms of where will be best teams come from that have to relegate down currently the NCS has the heads up on the ACE and ACW. I do miss the times back in S14 when my spread sheet would run outside-the-div records for each team each week. I still think only counting games outside the division is the best way to compare divisional strength (if one prefers to work with records instead of Becko), but alas, I simply don't have the time for such nice things anymore  |

Yeah I remember it, I wasn't a member of the Elite League back then but I did read your posts, they were nice
But I agree, the 3rd placed team in the NCS will most definitely be the best team to relegate from the Elite League this year and the 2nd placed team from the NCN will probably be the worst team to stay up... Too bad teams can't change regions to balance things up a bit better. |

Ah, well, here we go:

I also ran the numbers for - Strength of schedule so far - Strength of victory so far - Strength of upcoming schedule - Pythagorean wins  Source: http://i.imgur.com/76jJTwl.jpg ETA: Of coruse those number have much less value this year becuase of the bot. Notice how the teams with the weakst SOs so far are almost enitrely the teams that have played the bot. Also, team that still have to play him have the easiest upciming schedule. and pythagoras is naturally very impressed by bot bashing, hich leads to the wonderful case of the Aliens who have played the easiest schedule so far, but pythagoras actually thinks its a 5-4 team dressed up as a 2-7 team due to the two huge blowouts... This is great, thanks for doing it! 83% wins for Fire is impressive... About to drop though as my next two games are against the Knights and Stone Mtn so most definitely 2 more losses
Also, how did you calculate the pyth column? |

I used the formula for the pythagorean win expectation: PF^EXP/((PF^EXP)+(PA^EXP)) (this gives you the percentage, which i then multiplied up to the numbes of games played to get a rounded record.) As far was EXP, i used the 2.37 that is usually used in pro football, but i think the presence of the bot demands that exponent to be changed actually. of course tinkering with it might be worthless, since we have no way of testing it, and next season it might be over again, so i think i will leave it at the 2.37, even if leads to some distorted results like Torchwood. I've been twice relegated with a 10-6 record, and this year I will probably leave with a 11-5 or 12-4 record. It will come down to the wire when T'Pau and Cripplers will clash on the final game day. I trust that Blitzkrieg will stay in. Solana_Steve has a pact with the devil. |
