What do you already know? I'll assume you don't have any experience, so here are some basics.

- Typically, there will be a draft where you draft your players. It doesn't matter what "real" team they play for. For example, I could have Ben Roethlisberger, Ray Rice, and AJ Green all on my team. Obviously, only one fantasy team per league may draft a player.

- The goal is to score more points than your opponent's fantasy team every week.

- How your players get points depend on how they perform during real games. Using the players above, if Roethlisberger goes nuts and throws for 350 yards, 3 TDs, and no ints, he will get a lot of points. If AJ Green only has 2 catches for 25 yards and no TDs, he will get very few. If the Ravens have a bye week, Ray Rice will get 0 points.

- There are a ton of variations, but a more "standard" starting lineup would be something like QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, K, DEF/ST. DEF/ST is a team defense and special teams, like the Browns.

Hey Nogard

I play countless Fantasy leagues - if you want to join one, i will join the same league as you and we can do the draft together - i can help you via Skype or Googlemail IM if you like, just to give you some help how to navigate the draft room.

ESPN setups are, i find, the easiest ones to play. If you want to give it a go, drop me a line and we'll set up a convenient time/date to join a league - and before that we'll talk via email about the rules and what to look for etc.

Can also send you some links to blogs and mock drafts that show when players 'should' go in drafts so you get a balanced team at the end of it.

I am already registered at espn for the pick'em game. so maybe its the best to join a fantasy league there especially when they have the easiest rules.

would be great when u can send me the the links mts. I will read first and after that we can talk via pm or so.

Just a small sidenote, Nogard

When I started playing fantasy I went to fantasy-football.de
The guys overthere offer beginners leagues, where you are guided through the draft, the setup etc. It helped me a lot, and I can really recomment the help they offered, especially two guys called Fordpaule and troy2k. If you decide to go, my best regards to them

I am in my rookie league with a DST position. I cut the Texans this week and added the Dolphins cause Houston showed a bad performance so far and plays against KC.

But now there are also the chargers available who play vs the jaguars. My question is now should I start the Dolphins or cut them for the chargers?

Keep the Dolphins. The Bills are an easy target for them
