by losing my divisional game last year but being second in my conference what exactly transpired to keep me in 2.2 versus at least moving up to 2.1; was it random chance or did losing the div game force me to be held back from moving up (not that Im complaining about an easy peasy schedule but...)

Im pretty sure - though not fully - that 2.2 is classed as or on the same level as 2.1 - so theres no progression to be made - you simply stay at (Level) 2 Division 2 as there are 64 teams at that level - you can only go 'up' to 1.1 or down to 3.x

from the looks of it, there were only 2 bots in 1.1 last season, and they finished last, so no botflush there.

but does the bot flush not remove the lowest placed bots with the highest active human teams from the lower division?

yes, but after the normal relegation process (bottom 4 teams replaced by top 2 teams from 2.1 and 2.2). As the 2 bot tteams were among these bottom 4 they follow this process.

so in other words 4 bots in 1.1 get replaced by the 4 conference winners from 2.1 and 2.2 combined and being second in my conf. put me just outside that window

yes and no. if the 4 bot teams finishes as the bottom 4, then yes. if these bot teams are bottom 5-8 they go to the relegation matches (vs. conference championship lossers) and properbly gets relegated that way. if they are placed higher than this (or win their relegation match), then there is the botflush.

so lets say i have a 16-0 season and win my conference but lose div game; what would the odds of me moving back up be or how without winning the SuperBowl would i secure a spot in moving up

well, that depends on how many bots there are in 1.1, and how they are placed. lets say there is 1 bot team placed higher than bottom 8, you would then have to look at the other 3 conferences (the other 1 in your league and the 2 others in the other 2.? league). if you are the best team NOT in the bowl game you get promoted through the botflush.
2 bots higher than bottom 8: 2 best non bowl teams, and so on.
