i detest the Cowpats its true - but that doesnt mean to say i have any less of football knowledge than you or the next person - and just because you happen to disagree with me, it doesnt give you the right to denounce my apparent lack of knowledge when you dont know me from Adam.

The Packers had a desperate running game last season, and no one was sacked more times than Rodgers - yet despite all this, Rodgers threw far more TDs and many less INTs, and you could argue that in Bryant, Austin and Witten, Romo has as many weapons at his disposal than Rodgers does - or did. So dont give us that tosh about its irrelevant who is under center. It totally does - and Romo makes his own decisions. Some of his picks are just plain horrible.

Romo is by no means a 'great' QB - if you believe he is, then you seriously need to re-evaluate your definition of the word great. He has underachieved at the Cowboys, entering what will be his what - 9th - season as QB there? What does he have to show for it? He is by no means totally culpable for the Prats woes over recent seasons - but that team should have had much more success than they have done - and if youre telling me that they would have had the same record etc if they had an A-Rod, -G.O.A.T- or Manning at the helm, then you seriously need to take your head out of the sand and blink your eyes fella.

I will agree to disagree. I said he has made mistakes, but I think he is a great QB. Elite? No. As good as the other qbs I mentioned? No, but he still has the ability to lead a team to the SB if the right elements fall into place.

And seriously comparing the running game of the Packers is ridiculous. It was bad, but nothing like the Cboys after Murray went down. Rodgers sacked the most? Duh he is not the most mobile QB, much less than Romo is/was. And I seriously believe when your protection is as bad as the cboys o-line no QB can be successful with so many negatives against them.

The only weapon who really shined last season was Bryant. Miles was non existant, and Witten had a lot of tight coverage (he isnt the fastest TE in the game).

so are you really saying that not once since 2006 have Dullas potentially had the team to take them all the way to the SB with Romo at the helm?

I think it a fair comparison between the Boys running game and the packers of last season - youd struggle to name a packers RB of any note last season - and it wasnt so long ago the Boys had one of the better feature backs in the nfl.

Out of curiousity, how do you define a 'great' QB? Because im guessing by whatever rationale you come up with, there must be one heck of alot of great QBs around.

oh - and whilst Witten isnt the fastest TE around, he was the only TE last season to gain more than 1000 yards and set a record in number of receptions for a TE.

Not a weapon though.

While I don't detest the Cowboys like MTS and I would certainly say my overall knowledge is not up there with the best of you. I can say hand on heart with 100% honesty that when Romo needs to deliver he does. Unfortunately for the Cowboys fans that delivery is usually straight into the arms of the opposition.

Sure he throws for a lot of yards and maybe he doesn't have the tools around him to get the job done as well as some of the QBs out there but there is no excuse for some of the decisions he makes during the big games. Last season I remember watching him play one game where they were down big in the 4th and he come out firing big play after big play and he dragged his team back into the game. That to me isn't a pressure situation the game is gone he isn't expected to do anything.

Is he an elite QB? Not a chance.
Is he in the next group of QBs? I don't think so.
For me he is a talented QB who falls apart when he is needed the most;

The "new generation" Quarterbacks are very exciting to watch.
I loved to watch Newton, RG III,... even Tebow with the Broncos.
But I dont think its the way to go, because you will need a very good backup QB. IMO the risk of injury is way too high.

One of my all time favorites. Randall Cunningham.

But this is mostly only for a short time. Yesterday you could see that vick hasnt the speed any more he has before. Otherwise I think his 61 yrd rush would be a TD. Have must also be good in the pocket when you want to stay for a long time in the nfl.

So I think from this new generation Luck is the best in the pocket. he is not the fastet but he can run too. Kaepernick and RGIII can do this too but at the moment you can see that the injury slowed down RGIII or maybe this kneepad.

That is why I think Wilson is behind them. He is at best when he rolls out of the pocket and for that he needs his speed.
