since we had a good little discussion going in another forum i figured i could get a team thread going in here. what a start to the season!!

i didn't put any stock or get very excited last weekend. it was fun, but i kept it in check because it was the jaguars. who cares? we beat the 32nd best team in the league- - and the 31st best team prob would have beat them as badly, that's how bad they are.

yesterday was a LOT of fun to watch. i mean we know our limitations- - we just won't pressure anyone down the field all year likely. i think the cowboys might be a bad example of how our offense will look, given how well they A) control the line and the running game and B) put pressure on your QB. both of those things were true, as charles was held for like sub-4 yards per carry and only 16 rushes, and smith regularly had <2.5 seconds to get rid of the ball.

the eagles on thurs prob won't have the same pass rush and certainly don't have the same secondary. i expect a good game but i could easily see us losing here.

and how about those all red unis!?!?

Nah I think the Chiefs can win this game. Andy Reid is a good coach, and the Chiefs play tough. Im a Cbows fan and watching Dunbar blow that game was super annoying. But watching RGIII, Eli Manning and Kaepernick play like scrubs made up for Romos mediocre performance

It's a toss up. Despite the Eagles offense, I think the Chiefs can control the tempo with their short passes and good defense, and keep the game low scoring. Someone needs to stop DeSean Jackson though.

I told my friends before the season started that the Chiefs would be in the hunt for a wild card spot this year along with Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Indy, they would win 9 games, maybe 10 (look at their schedule!), and they get 2nd place in the AFC West by default. At the time I didn't see anyone else good enough to compete. Looks good so far, especially since Pitt has collapsed. There are so many AFC teams with major issues, that I think could make a big turnaround this year.

Continuing to keep turnovers at a minimum is key.

Seeing NFC East rivals lose always make me happy. But seeing Smith play good ol quality football is good too. Hope he pulls a Montana and kick Kaepernicks/9ers asses at some point.

excellent performance from the Chiefs last night - that 4th quarter drive killed the game and was a superb display of time consuming, defence wearing plays - Smith continues to look a reliable if not spectacular QB and Jamaal Charles i still rate as the #3 overall RB in the nfl.

great result - same against the Giants next week please for a very nice NFC East 3 and out!

I have alot of respect for Alex Smith. He won't ever be considered in the upper echelon of QBs in the league but I'd take him over someone like Cutler every time. He was brilliant when he was on tv here for the Superbowl a few years ago too!
