... in a few weeks .....

(anyone know anything about a certain martial art that has gradually consumed my family over the last few years? Judo. My weekends are now spent being Competitive Dad on the side of a Judo mat, urging my daughter on - she has not lost a fight in an individual tournament for over a year)

Far too early to say as she's just 9, and an Olympic hopeful who trains the kids at our club reckons competitors peak at 25-30. She's beating girls 1-2 years older than her consistently though, and it she keeps progressing will be competing at the highest level from next Autumn, as the top tournaments have a 10-12 age category.

Ashes prediction - lots of flat wickets - lots of runs scored - 2-1 England despite the convicts best efforts to manufacture a series of draws.

wow...sounds exciting mate. My little boy has just started football training at the England FA training facility at St Georges....at 5!!!! Am there every wednesday to watch him, hoping here is the next Beckham...at the moment hes playing more like Victoria than David, but theres time yet!
Scary how they train them now though at this age....but all the best to you daughter- hope she makes it!

Im getting a very bad feeling about the upcoming Ashes....im not sure why but i just think they came out of the summer with much more momentum and positivity even in defeat than we did in victory. Cant wait for it to start though!

What are your views on the current domestic setup? Im in favour for some very radical changes to it myself. Way too many first class counties with nowhere near enough quality at all to me.

A reduction in the number of clock stoppages for ad breaks....

With them now taking time to review every scoring play, and using that as an extra opportunity to cut to ads, it's starting to drive me mad.

1. I'd say to get rid of huddle completely. Every player would hear the playcall through special device in his helmet.
2. No extra points. 6 points for touchdown, 2 - for fieldgoal.
3. If the player receiving the kick fails to return the ball out of the end zone, then the kicking team scores a single point (like in CFL).

It wouldn't make any difference to Spurs if their was a goalie in the opponents goal, anyway. The chances of them scoring over 35 goals in the league the season must be over 25/1 in the bookies.

Soldado can only score from the penalty spot. £26m for a penalty taker

Back to Swordpriests posts, Krul made 15 saves on Sunday and I think that the Fulham keeper made as many if not more on Saturday. Keepers are worked.

Keepers can play until they are 60... they never break a sweat... and they dont even have to be in shape. How many ways can win this argument?
