Players will only injured in training.

Was this the right design decision?

Probably for suggestion forum, but I think (lasting) injuries should occur during the game more often than during practice.

I think the subject has come up before and Pete said it was a programming challenge...

people argued it would just be more randomness in the game if we introduce real injuries during games

As great as the game is, you will always find setbacks from time to time.
This simply does not feel right here.

It does seem odd. Players get injured mostly during games, not practices IRL. Seems like a simple thing to match real life on this one...

Definitely makes more sense from a realism standpoint ... but does it really add anything to the game?

Would much rather see time devoted to:
Balancing the PR game.
Adding FB/TE blocking to run plays, to encourage diversity of formations.
Adding ability to pass to HBs, for the same reason.

Realistic injuries in SG4WR ball™, is much lower on the list of where *I'd* like to see Pete putting development time. YMMV.

It's odd, and it is, sorry, nonsense!

And what do randomness means?
Misfortune, just bad luck can and do injure players in real life.

I think players should, yes players must get hurt in both, in training and at game time.
In the math should be age, fatigue, physical constitution, a probability and... I'm sure Pete would find this the right combinations.

The game reporting would also be much more exciting.
Many would be furious if their future Hall of Fame WR it is carried off the grid with a concussion.

Although, I am surprised people voted against in game injuries because of randomness... Like, what the hell? Thats such a huge part of real football, how can you vote against that? Oh, because it might negatively affect you? You might not make the playoffs if your star QB gets hurt? Boo f**king who for you. Thats a part of the game, and good teams can adjust when a key starter gets hurt.
