Probably one of the most enjoyable set of games I've seen in a long time. I couldn't stop laughing at the Detroit-Phily game. That is football the way it was meant to be. No domes, no warm weather. There were no XP's or FG's! One of the players made a snow angel in the endzone after he scored! Made me wish that I was out there playing, just like my friends and I did back in college and high school in small games in an empty field.
I was disappointed in Detroit's RB though. Bell grew up in Benton Harbor less than an hour from where I live. This is lake effect snow country up here, he should be used to the cold snowy weather, but he lost 2 fumbles! I missed the 1st quarter when he lost them, so maybe it was the Georgia QB's (Stafford's) fault. NFL rules prohibited the field from being cleared off at halftime, so they had to deal with 6+ inches of snow on the field for most of the game. I wish they would have more games like this. |

said that in one of my questions of the week, how weather in New York could seriously impact on the integrity of the game - and if a team like the Saints made it how it would affect them.
To me it makes a farce of it....especially when there are better options available that takes extreme weather conditions out of the equation so it truly can be all about the football. |
