Nah, td=6. Missed extra point means you only scored six. I'm just saying if they eliminate the extra point, does that mean they may have teams attempt a two-point conversion, from scrimmage every single time after a touchdown.

I think Goodell just likes getting his name in the news.

I TOTALLY agree with that, that is about all he's done his entire time as the Commish, lmao

i think it's a great idea to eliminate the extra point- one of the most boring and unnecessary aspects of the modern game and a die-hard holdover from English style rugby- the "kick after touching down". Kickers will never be unemployed as field goals are still valuable.

Agreed.

And I'd rather we forced teams to go for two after each and every TD than this "substracting a point if you fail" Goodell suggested.

yes i agree. PAT is something that has never excited me in any of the hundreds of games i have seen. But a two point conversion on the other hand is something interesting imo

I thought that originally too. But then I read what they want to change it to, and I like it.
Like pete, I'd also like to know what they would change it to. What is the article? Where did you read this?

On the link you posted. And there will still be field goals and kickoffs, which is their main job. They could also increase the extra point distance by a few yards to make it less automatic.

I'm form the states. I was rasied and played the game as it has been for many many many years. When it come to PATs.
The only thing that bugs me is that it would remove the possable of a trick play on the PAT.

The trick plays of fake FG that was deisnged play weather a run or pass that won a team the game.
We only see it few times a year. Some fail some make it.
The point is a good fake field goal when the game on the line.
Help make the game what it is today

fake field goals are exciting but so rare. they will still be possible, even if no fake extra-points.

*the Saints faked one punt and one field goal this season. Both were unsuccessful.

A fake FG is different from a fake PAT though. How often do we see fake PATs? Genuine question, I don't think I remember seeing a single one.
