I would *think* this is a relatively easy suggestion, as the code for storing whether passes were in the < 0 yards, 0-10, 11-20, 20+ range already exists (Gamecenter passing chart).
Simply adding the text, which already exists for screen passes: less than 0 yards -> "screen outer right pass". (already done) 0-10 yard distance -> "normal outer right pass". 11-20 yard distance -> "deep outer right pass". 20+ yard distance -> "bomb outer right pass". Or simply adding the distance it was passed *in the air*, as exists for interceptions, but not completions/incompletions in the current friendly game engine. ie, "13 yard outer right pass", rather than the above ... if that's easier than the text coding. It would let those of us trying to figure out what the #$&@ our QBs are doing out there, at least have a BIT more information to work with. Currently, we only get to see when they screw up badly (ie. Ints). Doesn't allow us to figure out what situations the sim decided - "Hey let's throw it 20+ yards!" ![]() Last edited on 2014-02-11 19:39:08 by Gambler75 |

We had that, and had to remove it partly because of some confusion it caused when reading the playbyplay...as far as I remember, long time ago.

I would too, I'd like to see which passes work best and have an idea of how far my QB throws on an average play instead of guessing on a 70 yard touchdown in which my WR ran 65 if those yards Last edited on 2014-02-12 05:14:43 by Hunter550 |

Exactly ... the Gamecenter does show yards after the catch (YAC) totals ... but it's really hard to get an idea what happened if that receiver pulled in more than a couple passes.
That 65 yard catch could've been a 5 yard out, and a 60 yard run ... or a 20 yard toss, and 45 yards after the catch ... big difference when trying to evaluate your team / tweak a playbook. |
