So let's talk here about the moves on the FA market this spring.

The first day is over and wow what an impressive and agressive strategy by the Broncos. with their top NFL Offense they made some big moves on the defensive side of the ball and load up their secondary with one of the top FA safeties TJ Ward and the maybe best available CB this spring Aquib Talib. There are still also reports that Jared Allen could land in Denver and Demarcus Ware will visiting the Broncos.

At the moment from the names I think the Broncos would be no. 1 Superbowl contender.

I hoped my Patriots would be such agressive in the market like 2007 when they trade for Welker an Moss.

I know Monkey is not happy about the moves of his Raiders. They have the most capspace of the league and let their maybe two best players even go.

Yeah, Broncos made some really bold moves and they improved their defense. I consider the signing of Talib a bit risky because of his HUGE contract and his past, but it surely may pay off.

I heard some rumours about Jared Allen to retire if he doesn't get the money he wants. And with Ware and Peppers on the market it wonť be easy for him.

I am a Vikings fan so I am gonna comment moves, that Vikes did. They re-sign (among others) Matt Cassel - probably a bit more expensive deal than I would like, but the sad news for the Vikings is that they just need Cassel to have at least some certainty at this position. They also re-sign Everson Griffen - huge deal, probably overpaid, but I truly believe, that Griffen will show, that he is worth the money. And one more important move - they sign Linval Joseph - that was just great signing and it made my day. Now, I would love to see Vikings sign proven CB, who can play in the slot and I would be happy with the free agency.

Some big deals done over the past 24 hours. At least my Dolphins have started to rebuild that OL it's currently worse than the Sharks OL and that is saying something

Ware signing with the Broncos was no surprise to me. He can still be a dominant force if he can stay healthy, and Denver is probably his best chance to get a ring. That's pretty much the only thing he hasn't accomplished in the NFL. Releasing him saved the Cowboys $7.2 mil this year in much needed cap space.

Miles Austin is released too as a post June 1st. He was a total non-factor in Dallas after he got the big contract, but now that he's in FA I expect his hammies to magically heal up and for him to start trying again.

Just a quick note on English usage... 'resign' does not mean 'sign again'.

It actually means almost the opposite - 'to give up a job', or 'to accept a bad outcome'

Oh the vagaries of our wonderful language .

Patriots react on the Talib signing in Denver and take Revis under contract for 1 year. But 12M for this year is huge money especially in this years cap space. I hope he will be worth it and stay healthy.

The Jets sign Eric Decker. 36.25M total, 15M guaranteed looks like a bargain for 5 years. Most people htought Decker could be one of the very overpaid players this offseason. But he was only a No 2 in denver at least maybe no 3 WR only. It´s a question what he can show without a Manning as QB.

And I still dont know what they do there in Oakland. Let Veldheer go. agreed with Saffold for very big money and now he failed the physical... and Howard was signed on a very long term deal with big money for an avg Guard.

I don't know about the new contracts, but Oakland cleaned up the mess Al Davis made in one fell swoop by hiring a real GM. I'd give McKenzie a chance and see what he has in store for the future.

He already cut every aging/overpaid veteran and brought them out of cap hell to become the team with the most money to work with. Now they're definitely rebuilding out of the draft, of which this is the first year he gets a complete one. It will probably be a few more years before they are even contenders. I wouldn't worry too much about a bloated contract here and there, they've got money to play with until McKenzie's Raiders emerge. And when they do, it's going to be all about the D.

Why you don't use "sign again"?
