I will try to rebut some of your thesis!

Should be a fun year! My team was significantly worse the last time I played in 2.1, but it should still be very competitive!

Given the way today's game went, I'm actually feeling pretty good about my team. Faced with the first real competition I've ever had (D2 veteran in league play), in less-than-ideal circumstances, my team managed to make a game of it. My number one QB, however, is definitely Anthony Reeder. I'll stick with the two-headed dragon, but I'm just glad Reeder is four years younger. Yamanoue will likely be transferred out in a season or two. Possibly three.

Since we're two league games in, I'll give some more analysis about the teams in our league:

AC West

1. Arizona Reapers (1-1) (Bot flushed from D3.4)
The Reapers are most likely the biggest unknown in our league. Without a maxed stadium, a weak rushing attack, and not even a speck of attention paid to them, because they were not in a league that fed into ours, we do not know much about this team. Their manager appears to be in his third season of work, and will likely find himself fighting relegation this year. One win coming against the Baton Rouge Scarlet Fangs may not look like much, however, but such a win is still significant.
Watch out, because this manager could be smart enough to hang around and pick up some surprise wins!

2. Romanian Devil Gypsies (1-1) (10-6; First in Season 11)
The predecessor to Modest Mouse and my Besaid Aurochs; they were D3.1's champs in season nine. The last three champs of 3.1 are now all in the same conference together, funny how that worked out. With a colorful array of flags on the roster, the Devil Gypsies seek to beat teams through the air. Though the Mousquetaires may try to catch up this year, the Gypsies are due for another division title and a run in the playoffs.

3. Lafayette Mousquetaires (0-2) (9-7; Second in Season 11)
Another team that flushed from 3.4, arriving in season ten and staving off relegation to stay here, are the Mousquetaires. Obviously they have a good manager seeing as they are still around. This team looks like a jack-of-all trades ("can do everything, master of nothing") type of team. There are no aspects of this team that would indicate they do not belong, but nothing looks overpowering. In an 0-2 hole already, tactics will be the key to this team making it through the season and into the playoffs. With a manager that's kept his team here against the odds already, tactics shouldn't be an issue for him.

4. Watery FC (0-2) (Promoted from D3.1)
If this team's strategy was a person, he'd be a world-class track athlete. A team that my Aurochs played in 3.1 (see here), these guys are weird to play. Because of the team's style, your strategy will not do a whole lot to them. Sure, they are prone to failure faced with tough competition, but at the same time, this team has played in games where logic was thrown out the window and Watery FC either won or gave a significantly better team a scare. Sometimes the numbers and score won't make sense. That's what this team is about. The money is there, and this team's manager knows how to buy, but until the offense is built better, Watery FC will be fighting relegation.

AC WEST PREDICTIONS
1st. Romanian Devil Gypsies (12-4)
2nd. Lafayette Mosquetaires (9-7)
3rd. Watery FC (5-11)
4th. Arizona Reapers (1-15)

All in all, the AC is pretty diverse, but is mostly filled with teams ready to compete for the playoffs. Unfortunately, there's not much room at the top. Here are my playoff teams for 2.1 ( previous projections are revised accounting for league matches today).

1st Seed. Tolhouse Kingfighters (14-2; AC East Champs)
2nd Seed. Sursee Bisons (12-4; AC North Champs)
3rd Seed. Romanian Devil Gypsies (12-4; AC West Champs)
4th Seed. Besaid Aurochs (11-5; AC South Champs)
5th Seed. Dome Babbies (12-4)
6th Seed. Hordada Blues (11-5)

If those are the playoffs that happened in the AC, it would be pretty crazy.

I think I'm happy just to have moved up to a division where I'm even mentioned lol.

Interesting to see the differing opinions on where everyone will finish. I went a little crazy on qb's after the season when I was miffed at my playoff loss so we'll see how that pans out. Still trying to get the TC up on my newly signed players too which is making things difficult.

Yesterdays game was pretty fun to watch, unfortunately I never did put in a condition in the playbook to not kick the fg when down by 4+ points and under 2 minutes to go so we pretty much blew our chance to tie it when we kicked a meaningless fg.

So I wa in chat last night and I showed my analysis to guys and bwadders, bwadders said I should quit if I lose to Babbies in the WC round. I accept that challenge.

Must be a bit extreme. We can't know how a game will be decided. If I replay my last conference game I win 9 times over 10. But I lose, so everything can happen.

Tough loss to the blues yesterday. 80 yard TD in prefect defensive formation with 2min left and up by 6. I was quite unhappy lol.


Especially since he had like 100 yards passing before that.


Good team though, I knew my team would have to play lights out to even have a shot in that one.

The whole notion is really a joke, but I guess it's because the Babbies' strategy is easy to crack. That's what I hear.

Yeah I beat Babbies 2 seasons ago in the 2.1 championship game with a team that should have been outmatched.
