Damn....

you read in the forum it is with Monkey, and Steve...and you are happy when you recognize, you will play against them in the POs, not in the group...but then you check your group...and...

Ah, so we meet again Yoda.

Looks like a fair grouping. Should be a fun but challenging Cup!

It really will be tough and challenging, but I'm looking forward to it! I am also glad, that my Duck Bowl attracts attention of so many great teams...

If someone would ask me, if we could remove Fieldgoal-Scores from the rules...I would answer....YES!

Ok, but only if we can also remove fluke 49 yard TD passes.

It's rare that I don't score a TD and still manage to win. Hard fought match on both sides. Good game Pete.

Don't do that lol...eliminate tailgating rules in the parking lots; grilling bratwurst and burgers is a very important tradition and a key component of my playbook...grr, dang it, lol

Round One

Group A

Xenos 3 – 55 Fighters de Pλris

- Xenos, who participated in all five Duck Bowls, are one of the three most faithful Duck Bowl participants. In Duck Bowl I they managed to sneak into playoffs and even left Slavia Pankrác behind them in the group stage. But in following three Duck Bowls they didn’t win a single game and never repeated their previous success. Last night they didn’t start their fifth Duck Bowl appearance well, when they lost to Fighters de Pλris 55:3.

- Fighters de Pλris recorded their first and only appearance in Duck Bowl I and they also managed to sneak into playoffs, where they lost in the first round to later winners Motol Ducks. Last night they dominated in the air and on the ground as well with just one offensive formation and recorded 528 total yards and 55 points.

- Fighters WR Zinedine Menard had a fantastic night, when he recorded 20 catches for 162 yards and 5 TDs and he surely was the star of the game.

San Diego Blitzkrieg 24 – 15 Galrauch Raiders

- San Diego won Duck Bowl IV (prior to Duck Bowl V their only appearance), and so they are one of the biggest favourites to win Duck Bowl V. They didn’t started well their first game, when they thrown one interception and also fumbled ball once in the first quarter, but they managed to win due to a great fourth quarter performance.

- Raiders participated in Duck Bowl II and they lost to Guinness Drinkers United in the first round of the playoffs. Last night Raiders dominated in the air, but didn’t score any TD in the game and 5 FGs weren’t enough to beat strong San Diego.

- The decisive moment of the game came, when there was 1:24 left on the clock in the fourth quarter and the score was 15:21 for Blitzkrieg. Raiders had ball on opp 31 and they thrown an interception, that lead to San Diego’s FG.

Group B

Guinness Drinkers United 7 – 12 Morgantown Mad Dogs

- Guinness Drinkers, who made it to the final in Duck Bowl II, but lost to Bretzfeld Bandits and prolonged their waiting for friendly cup trophy, scored the only TD of quite defensive game, but they lost nevertheless.

- On the other hand Mad Dogs won even though they didn’t score any TD, but they had more total yards and first downs than their opponent, so they surely didn’t won undeservedly.

- It really was a defensive battle, and so Morgantown’s kicker Jonathan Moeflener was arguably MVP of the game, because he was the only player who scored points for the winning side.

Motol Ducks 44 – 24 AS Roma Wolves

- Motol Ducks started the game badly and just after 8 minutes of the game they were losing 17-0, but they didn’t lay down their arms and they were getting better and scored more points every other quarter to win the game 44-24.

- AS Roma Wolves, who participated in every single Duck Bowl so far and made it to the final in Duck Bowl IV, recorded only 3 first downs after strong first 8 minutes of the game and that just wasn’t enough to retain their lead till the end of the game.

- Ducks WR Svatopluk Zíka had 19 catches for 170 yards and 3 TDs in the game and was the most valuable offensive weapon for the Ducks.

Congratulations to all four teams tham made it to the playoffs!

And thanks to those four teams that unfortunately didn't make it.. The competition was/is tough..

I won my group, but I will face San Diego Blitzkrieg, that ended my journey in the last Duck Bowl in semifinal as well.. Not happy about it, but I will do my best to get my revenge
