It is one of the most ridiculous things I have heard in football today. There is a very clear difference in a good tackle compared to a helmet-first tackle.
I understand the concept in protecting players but the more we try to protect, the greater the risk of damage becomes...oxymoron or what |

Today, in the EC game between Sweden and Germany, there were 2 ejection because of Targeting, each one of them followed by a "one further game benched" penalty. One of the situations: the german Safety is protecting vs a deep pass. The sweden WR is going airborne to catch the ball, and during landing, he hits the Safety from above, while the safety was trying to protect himself, and took his head down...so the Swedish guy hit the german guy from the upper side...what should the german defender do? Going to the side?
This is so annoying...not because a german player was affected, but because there was no intentional helmet to helmet... I am all for kicking guys out of the game who go helmet to helmez intentional....dot get me wrong here |

I haven't seen the incidents you guys are talking about but some helmet to helmet calls are completely ridiculous.
We have a French saying that basically says "Perfection is the enemy of greatness" meaning that if you try to improve too hard you might make things worse. I think the league protection policy is a perfect example of this, it's good to protect players but if you go too far you're altering the nature of the game and making it worse. |

Overall it was a fantastic game...so many turnovers, so many offense points, so many mistakes in the D and special team...amazing.
I am a little bit afraid what will happen on Saturday...the Germans need to do more of they want to win this |

Yeah when Alabama was playing Texas A&M this past year HaHa almost got ejected from "targeting" but when they reviewed it he was clearly playing the ball, and I even saw he was playing the ball as it happened, thankfully he wasn't suspended but still it was a stupid call, wasn't even a helmet to helmet hit either
