I think it's essential (for several reasons) that teams are able to swap Leagues (i.e. from Thunder to Fire etc etc).

Therefore, I suggest a system very similar in many ways to the 'challenge pool scheduler' :-

- Before season end, a team makes a request and specifies which League they would like to move to (e.g. a team in Galaxy 1.1 requests a move to Fire 1.1)

- Moves would only be allowed from/to the same 'level' ... i.e. Fire 1.1 to Admirals 1.1 is OK, .. whereas ..... Thunder 2.1 to Fire 1.1 is not allowed (for obvious reasons )

- At the end of the season, the new 'league swap scheduler' would run ... basically, it would look at all the move requests and attempt to satisfy as many move requests as possible.

- If for some reason a move request couldn't be performed, that move request could be given higher priority for when the league move scheduler ran the following season (if the manager still wanted to move, of course).

I foresee various teams that would want to use this feature and move leagues, for many reasons :-

- to find a more competitive league
- to find a less competitive league
- for a change of scenery
- because you're bored with your current league/division

etc etc

Obviously, you wouldn't be able to choose which division you're parachuted into ( too many possibilities to manipulate the system ) , ... the procedure would be that you would simply specify the target League/Region (e.g. a team moving from Admirals 2.1 to Fire could end up in Fire 2.1 or Fire 2.2).

Think this has been suggested before and shot down. Of course for the right amount Pete/Yoda will do anything, like in his younger days:

I'm not a big fan, but under the right circumstances there should be exceptions imo. Like Brisbane Meteors in SD had to start again because he moved to Australia, and may need to start again now because he's moving back to the UK I think!

its a good idea

I would personally prefer if all the leagues were merged together

EG......
super league
league 1.1
league 2.1
league 2.2
league 3

this would get everyone together etc and possibly stop newbies leaving
it would probably be a massive job though

This is something that will not happen, and there are good reasons why. (Newbees will leave as more, as the way to the top gets longer.)

I like the sense of the topic, but I would prefer that everyone who changes league will get into the lowest class of the league like a start over, because if you deny the request of somebody there will be to much rumor.

Definitely agree that if this happens those changing should start in the lowest league. This prevents other teams being kicked out because someone wants to change leagues. It also means we don't need to set up parameters to decide which league a changing team goes into - and the arguments that might ensue from that.

A 1.1 would play in 3.x? Really? Also, if i understand correctly, there is no kicking involved. Two teams just change places, that's it.

Absolute rubbish.

No team would be "kicked out because someone wants to change leagues"..... the whole idea is that the swap scheduler matches swap requests and therefore only moves teams that have requested to change leagues.

As for "teams changing should start in the lowest league" ..... this makes no sense whatsoever, it would simply result in 1.1 teams with 65%/70% overall ratings being moved to 3.1/3.2/3.3/3.4 .... so how would a newly formed team (with a 40% rating) be expected to compete with a former 1.1 team who has been 'relegated' to 3.x ???.
