Wow, a court confirmed the ruling of the Spanish govt, not allowing a questionnaire on the topic...crazy...no voting, only a questionnaire..

Well the thing that the options in the questionare was exactly the same as the voting , the same day and with everything been done the same way may had its weight xD
Still I dunno why they dont let it vote. I would be really interested on seeing that vote happen. Well, actually (apart from other political interests) the spanish constitution doesnt allow it. We should try to change that first maybe. So the goverment cant cancel the vote |

Dont get me wrong, but a vote and a questionnaire are not the same, even they use the same question and options. A questionnaire doesn't bind anyone to act based its result - but it's a great way to learn about majorities, opinions, possible ways out of crisis etc.

The constitution may not allow it but at the end of it all it's only a constitution while that region is a member of the particular country. If the Basque region declared independence and created it's own constitution there's not a word in the Spanish constitution that would be relevant.
Maybe it's time for all the little principalities of Germany declare their independence |
