This game (a little over a year) and grid-iron (close to 2 years) would be the two that I get into most.

I've given Goal Line Blitz a chance, but after two months of "log in, train your player, log out, repeat process in 24 hours" it's doubtful that I will continue with it after the current season ends.

Previously I've signed up for some soccer games as well as that godawful handball game TeamHB, but I let my teams die pretty quickly in those.

This Blood Bowl game mentioned above sounds interesting though - will certainly be checking that one out.

Anyone here played Front Office Football 7?

If so what are your thoughts on the game?

For myself I find the behavior of some of their managers just idiotic. They are wandering over rating pages, and tell everywhere that every other game than FOF ist just bullshit....can't stand it.

Pros:
- Absolutely incredible level of detail to the simulation ... this is a HUGE draw for me. If you can do it in real life, you can find a way to do it in FOF7.

- AI does a solid job in game planning against upcoming opponents for managers with limited football tactics knowledge.

- The scouting/drafting element has a lot of bust/boom players in it, is superbly detailed ... and from a gameplay standpoint, makes multiple seasons leagues not seem quite so hopeless if you have a bad initial draft.

Cons:
- User interface leaves a lot to be desired, takes awhile to figure out where some options were "hidden", overall very clunky.

- Quality of multiplayer leagues depend *A LOT* on having a good commissioner.

- If you want to do detailed game planning against an upcoming opponent, it can be very time consuming.

- Perhaps a bit TOO realistic in terms of QB quality. There are maybe 6 to 7 good QBs available in any given league, and the rest of the teams end up *FOREVER* scrambling trying to find a franchise signal caller.

- Default injury rating is RIDICULOUSLY high ... to the point of having 10-12 players out at any given time. That's even worse than the real NFL, but this can be easily adjusted, just something to look for when jjoining a league - there's a percentage slider, most decent MP leagues put it at around either 50% or 100%. (For some odd reason it defaults to 200%!)

If there's enough interest, we could always get an official RZA league going for this, would cut down on the number of idiots you run into in random public leagues.

Not sure whether to label this one as a pro or a con - you *really* can't get attached to your team.

The HR negotiations in that would drive a lot of people mad. It's full on (obnoxious?) realistic to NFL type action, with veterans who you've done nice careful planning and gotten on a good deal - holding out the following season, and demanding outrageous cash.

You have to balance out the signing bonus versus yearly salary, how many years, decide if you want to backload the contract and try to resign in year X, all of it. It seems fairly random when veterans hit a wall and their attributes plummet, and young players can vary wildly as your scouting staff gets a handle on what their *real* skills are - so makes all the negotiating side kind of nerve wracking - especially when figuring out the lengths. It *does* give you some generic suggested numbers if you're not into all that bean counting though.

I managed a two SB run in it, and pretty much every good player I had skyrocketed their demands and my team is now a shambles after letting at least a good four or five of the key cogs in those runs get away, rather then destroy my cap.

I'll volunteer to commish if there's interest in getting an official RZA league going - would be a blast with actual people rather than getting beat up (now) by the obnoxious AI.

I have played loads of games over the last 15 years or so, Hattrick for a number of years (quit soon after losing a playoff game to reach the highest league in England), I was an admin at F1time (now Racing Boss after they were forced to drop the F1 name), plus a rally game, a golf game, a gang warfare game and a couple of other F1/Racing games. Those are just the ones I remember

Along with RZA, I am still playing Battrick (a cricket version of Hattrick - I've been there for 10 years - the game is slowly dying now though), and I play an online conversion of the Advanced Civilisation board game at http://civ.rol-play.com - If you've ever played the boardgame, or want to see where the classic PC game originally came from, then take a look, it's slow paced but great fun

I'm also a regular on Lord of the Rings Online, the Tolkien based MMORPG.

I actually looked back at this late last year and gave Civ a try. And now I think we're in a game together...

In fact we are neighbours, and with Crete playing really poorly and nobody playing Thrace, I'm pretty sure you don't actually need all that land in Italy you are busily grabbing

I came here from Broken Bat. I'm more of a football fan than a baseball fan but I'm absolutely hooked on BB, been playing almost exactly a year and we're currently a third of the way through the 2030 season (my fifth). Might seem complex at first but its actually a very simple and very cleverly done game. Building a good roster while maintaining a good minors system and competing in your league is challenging, and fun. Love it.

I'm still learning the game, so I won't pretend I know what I'm doing. I may play it a bit too much like a war game, dunno.
