Well guys sorry for the break.

The weekly forecasting will have restart next season as most results are pretty obvious which will it look funny, with the exception of bot match ups, of predicting correctly the rest of the results.

Instead I will look at the play off picture.

After 11 games it has become clear who the main play off contenders are, especially in this transitional season.

The AC East already shows that Vienna Falcons will probably claim the divisional title on beating Wild Thangs this week, if not a wait of two more games will make no difference. For Wild Thangs after this weeks game against Falcons their play off place should be secured especially as they face two Bot teams in their run in. Pittsburgh Steelers will probably miss out on the play offs purely because they still have to face Falcons and Thangs during their run in.

The AC North will see Flow Gaming as their only representatives in the play offs and they should wrap up the divisional title this week.

The AC South looks closer than expected, but that was due to Xu Da's bad start to the season. On the run in they should pull ahead, but that depends on this week's match against Kansas City Chiefs. With the Chiefs they are more likely to be fighting for the other play off place. true home winners have the difficulty of playing both Xu Da and Chiefs in their run in and because of this will probably miss the play offs.

The AC West Severnside Cardinals have a relatively easy run in and should secure the divisional title by Week 13. Inbhir Narann will be fighting Kansas Cirty Chiefs for the second play off place, which will probably come down to PD, which Narann lead at the moment.

The NC East has seen Budapest Wolves blast my prediction out of the water and they have taken control of the division, so without any silly mistakes they should take the divisional title by Week 13. Boston Back Bayers have to win their home matches and Slavia Pankrac and Deerfield Dragons to guarantee their play off spot. As to Pankrac and Dragons, they have to be careful they do not trip over each others feet for both of them to miss the play offs.

The NC North divisional title is as good as sown up with salamander assassins and the likelihood of lionwings joining them in the play offs is dependant on results in the run in and PD.

The NC South Totoras Patriots have it all wrapped up as they play 4 Bots in their remaining games. Basterds have an outside chance of the play off at the moment, but that will fall away with their next 3 games.

The NC West Girona Atzugavers have already sown up the division and are now in a straight fight with Budapest Wolves and salamander assassins for the top two play off seedings, but have a tricky run in which will see them drop out of the race.

Play Off Seedings Prediction
AC
1. Vienna Falcons
2. Severnside Cardinals
3. Flow Gaming
4. Xu Da
5. Wild Thangs
6. Inbhir Narann

NC
1. salamander assassins
2. Budapest Wolves
3. Totoras Patriots
4. Girona Atzugavers
5. Boston Back Bayers
6. Slavia Pankrac

Ok Regular Season 18 is over and the Play Offs are upon us.

I will have a little look over the season in another post later this week, but for now I am going to have a look at the Wild Card Play Offs.

Boston Back Bayers @ Budapest Wolves

Originally I expected Boston to overturn Budapest for the Divisional Title, but an unexpected loss to Girona followed by two defeats to Budapest left them chasing Budapest's shadow for the rest of the season while fending off Deerfield and Slavia.
As for Budapest losing a tight one to Flow Gaming must of been hard, but then to loose to the scalp hunter of the season Girona must really make janos wonder if he will get another chance back in the Elite League.
Beckos favour Budapest by 18 and unless davely signs back in with a playbook (last log in 17/9/15) to make the match interesting this could well be a walk over for janos and his Wolves.

Inbhir Narann @ Flow Gaming

I did not expect to make the play offs, but bonus wins over lionwings (NC West) and Pittsburgh Steelers helped my team get their noses in front for the visit down under to Flow Gaming.
It is hard to say how well Flow Gaming are playing as they have had only one challenging match in their last nine. I know they have a strong squad and Beckos favour them by 23, but can I upset the apple cart.
Hmmm... we will see, but my mind says I shouldn't while my heart hopes.

Wild Thangs @ Xu Da

At the beginning of the season Xu Da were always odds on for their Divisional Title, but the ubexpected loss to lionwings (NC North) did slightly worry and like Flow Gaming they have had only one hard game in their last nine so it makes you wonder if they are ready for a team with Wild Thangs strengths.
Wild Thangs' season has gone much as expected except for the losses to Severnside and Totoras, which resulted in the Divisional Title going to Vienna.
Beckos have Wild Thangs favoured by 6, but I think it could be more unless Xu Da find the same way to win like Severnside and Totoras did during the regular season.

lionwings (NC North) @ Totoras Patriots

lionwings did well winning the games they expected and pulling off some that were not expected. Though they gave Totoras a difficult game earlier in the season I think this is as far as it goes.
Totoras have played out of their skins this season and along with Girona have claimed some noteable scalps. Will it be enough to see them further than the Divisional Play Offs, we will have to wait and see.
Beckos have favoured Totoras by 35 and I cannot argue against that.

Well as predicted Season 18 was a real "Whacky Scoreline" season.

It was a transitional season to end all transitional seasons. In the end 8 teams went Bot and the difference level between some of the experienced teams and the newer teams, who decided to stay, proved my prediction right.

Putting that aside some of the new managers, who stayed, have heeded the advice given and have pushed on with developing their infrastructure as quickly as possible, while a few are still climbing that ladder. This will only make this league more competative as stadiums are maxed out and managers play the Transfer Market wisely while utilizing their Youth Academies to strengthen their squads over the coming seasons.

This will give hope to all. A more competative league will lead, hopefully, to others having an opportunity to get to the Elite League and not the same teams going up then coming back down to whack us so their can go straight back up. (Be warned wiesengrund)

The Divisional Titles went to the teams that were generally expected to win them, thanks janos for spoiling my predictions , but that might not be the future in some divisions. So it's congratulations to Vienna Falcons, Flow Gaming, Xu Da, Severnside Cardinals, Budapest Wolves, salamander assassins, Totoras Patriots and Girona Atzugavers.

There is automatic relegation for the Bot teams of Redskins, Obama, conz and Thanet Thunder. Relegation play offs for Bot teams Indianapolis Colts, Bluecollar Bisons and Big blue. Managed team Premolo 69ers have to hope they get a decent draw in the Play Offs or use Bot Flush, if unsuccessful, to see if they remain instead of Bot team New England Patriots.

From Thunder 2.1 we should see either Hucknall Broncos or Amersfoot Alligators come up from the NC Confeference as Champions and the other through the Play Offs. The AC Conference Play Off teams are all new managers so it could be anyone of them coming from that side. Premolo will have to be aware that the 3rd strongest team in the NC Conference, Vile Vikings, might opt for Bot Flush if their Play Off run is not successful.

From Thunder 2.2 Deflators from the NC and Slaughter from the AC should be the Bowl finalists. The SQUALES of Beach or LM Pirates from the NC should be in the Promotional/Relegation Play Offs. Divers are my favourites for those Play Offs from the AC as three of the other teams are new managers and the fourth one is Bot.

In preparation of doing this little piece I had a look around all the teams and in general we are all doing quite well. Though there is still a wide variance in team strengths, though I can see that gap closing and some teams have already proved that using a playbook based on your team strengths can win you games against the supposed stronger teams.

As we come to the end of the season nearly all of us are financially settled only Nutwood Squirrels and Badalona Tigers seem to be struggling a little bit. With the exception of Premolo, Knuckleheads and Nutwood we all have maxed stadiums, so they should know what their target should be next season.

Of those possibly joining us next season Hucknall and Amersfoot have maxed stadiums and squads that might surprise, from the rest Vile Vikings, Slaughter, Deflators and The SQUALES are progressing well. If these guys understand the long view they will help create Thunder 1.1 into a very competative league.

One final congratulations to Buddy Ryan and his Bears for making my prediction for Thunders Elite Division come true, no hard feelings notsch.
