Well here we are. We did beat the Crows, and somewhat convincingly, after all.
Now we have Homefield Advantage throughout the playoffs. So come on then Blood Kings et al. 
As a side note I'd like to thank all (including non-Monarchs, who probably will not read this) for not buying my T/L listed WR, Sean Weldon. He is now back on my depth chart with TC of 18%. Nevertheless against the Crows he caught 8 passes for 73 yards making him today's top performer. Now he may be very, very good but I have a suspicion that the other 5 guys were not really pulling their weight. |

So the Wildcard games are here.
2016-03-22 17:00 Wildcard Playoff Adelaide Crows vs. Burnaby Bruisers In this game I pick the Bruisers. They did already win against the Crows by a margin of 20 Points and had some crucial wins during the season. The Crows do look like a Team in rebuilding mode securing a certain Level, but will Need some time to get back on top. All Rankings do also see the Bruisers as favourite. On top of the slightly higher Rating in strength do have the Crows also a Moral Problem which won't be fixed until tomorrow. An upset would be a Hugh win for the Crows. Bruisers win. Gramercy Riffs vs. Panteras Assassinas Assassinas did win against the Riffs with a margin of 11 Points this season, but the difference will very likely be much higher in this rematch. The difference in strength is somewhat of 10%, so don't expect a high Chance for an upset. Still, not the loopsided game of the day. Anyway, Assassinas are the pick and if the Riffs would win, it would be a great one. Assassinas win. Peterborough Pirates vs. Sentinels Their strength Level are almost the same, and the Sentinals did win their Division, but still are the Pirates the favourites. I did not Scout the roster of the sentinals, but a wage Level of 8 mio plus per u p d a t e does have one-skill-wonders all over the Webpage written. They do burn Money like hell, but they will very likely lose this game. The Pirates do look like they build a strong Team with all aspects in Balance, which will very likely prevail against that wage Monster. Still, everything is possible, the Ratings and Rankings do not differ too much. Pirates win. Versailles Knights vs. Paxtang Black Panthers The most loopsided game of the day. The Panthers are highly favoured. The strength Level is also 10%+ apart, but the main differences are expierence and Moral. The Panthers are way to mature to lose against a Playoff Newcomer and on top of that are the Moral values of the Knights way down. The Knights will go down in a blood bath. Panthers win. |

Close one and a real sports Drama. Crows were in the lead when they did threw a pick-6 and were suddenly 2 Points behind. A Long drive was supposed to be sealed with a FG and that way a 1 Point lead, but the kick missed the Goal and the Bruisers were able to run down the clock.

4 of 4, but that Bruisers-Crows game was very Close. next the DPs 2016-03-26 17:00 Divisional Playoff Burnaby Bruisers vs. Blood Kings This could become a blowout or a nailbiter. Bruisers had some good games this season, but my gut Feeling is the Kings will win with 10+ Points here. They won also during the season already by more than 10 against the Canadians, so my Pick is clear. Kings win. Panteras Assassinas vs. Strike Team Interesting matchup and closer than likely expected. On a good day are the Assassinas able to win here on an upset. But my guess is, Strike Team will come out with blazing guns. Also a rematch to a regular season game, which was won by Strike Team with 2 scores, it's hard to pick against the French. Strike Team win. Paxtang Black Panthers vs. Berinsfield Hornets In this game a Division winner will go down. The Panthers are highly favourited in this and for sure will the Hornets have a hard time to get an upset here. On paper they are alsmost equal, but the Hornets had some Problems during the season, but did not Play the Panthers, so the last game between both Teams was last season (won by 3 by the Panthers). I do expect a 10+ Point margin win of the Panthers. Panthers win. Peterborough Pirates vs. Torchwood Aliens Last game and the Aliens had a quite impressive season, but as had the Pirates. Aliens Moral and TC is a Overall down, so this might become a factor. Maybe a Coaching Change which might come costly. I still pick the Aliens, but be prepared for an upset. Aliens win. |

We had two coaches due to retire at the end of the season and so I have been actively looking for replacements. The first was our HC and he has duly been replaced causing a loss of morale and TC. We are also due to sign a contract tomorrow with our new FB coach. This will doubtless cause a few further ripples. I may be criticised for doing this now but it was essential that I got these guys in order to prepare for our future. Last season I said that I wanted to be ready the next time we went back to the Elite. I didn't expect that to be looking like we had a chance this season. So in all honesty I haven't been able to change so much around in one season. I've strengthened some areas but some are still weak and would not survive the Elite. The coaches were an essential part of my plan. So if this change costs me an elite place this time I'm not going to complain too much because I think the changes are necessary for our long term survival when we get back. Anyway we'll take it one game at a time. |

Well the end is nigh... but no real surprises in tonight's games.
Congratulations to the Peterborough Pirates. Best of luck in the conference championship game. I was not expecting a win here, unless by some miracle, because as I've repeatedly said my focus is on the long term rather than a quick return to the elite. So I took some drastic and controversial actions which reduced our ability to win this game. Nevertheless, I don't want to detract from the Peterborough win and I'm sure they'll put up a good fight against the Blood Kings. May the best team win. |
