EDITORIAL COMMENT: we are trying a new more visual style as you can see, let us know in the comments if you like it.
Hello all and welcome back to the one and only (?) weekly RZA football show about the most fun league in the RZA universe: Thunder 1.1! It's a new season and everyone is hoping, dreaming and planning of a better season than last. This really is a beautiful time of the year where everyone seems happy and has a spring in their step. This all lasts exactly until kick-off time on Saturday when the rubber will meet the road. Even on this first day, dreams will be squashed, hopes dashed and plans will fail miserably. And of course there will be upsets and drama. That is why we all love and breath football! So in the first Game of the Week we will see what happens when a relegated Elite team meets one of the better teams of last season. Budapest Wolves will both be licking their wounds after a punishing season on Elite and be relishing the fact of finally winning games regularly again. Wild Thangs meanwhile will be hungry after a very promising season where they were able to go toe to toe with the big guns in the league. The match up promises to be a spectacle from the get go as both teams will be looking to make a statement on day 1. Once again we've dispatched our beat writers to get interviews in from both camps. While we are waiting for those to come in why don't you join in the discussion. Who do you think will win for example? Last edited on 2016-07-06 09:21:42 by Cheesehead |

Well done piece Cheesehead.
I'll put a ten spot down on the Wolves. |

Bova predicts Thangs over Wolves...
I'll put my money on Thangs as well, just an inkling I have, no real science behind it. |

Shoot, totally forgot to post the interview with stizz as I was waiting for the other one to come in as well, so just in the nick of time, here it is:
Question 1. You had a great season last year and you beat Fraggles twice for example. Do you think you can take the next step and improve on last season or do you have other expectations? I seem to always make the playoffs, then bomb out. I expect the same this year. Question 2.You've spent no money at all on the transfer market. This points to a belief that your training regime and youth academy can outperform teams that do spend money on the TM. Is that a fair assessment? It's a fair assessment, but it is incorrect. I do what I do for no reason in particular. I had previously bought good players on the TM, but have not used it recently. Question 3. What do you think the key deciding factor in this game will be? I have a slight chance to win, but only if the Wolves forget to set their Depth Chart. |

So what a game to start the season off with. A tense game that was exciting until the end.
Favorite moment: Thangs fumbling the ball in the red zone but recovering it and still gaining a yard and a few plays later scoring a TD. That recovery won him the game! Q3 6:13 1 and 10 to go on opp 13, Chester Helton (OC) snaps the ball to Delbert Noland (QB), Rick Clay (HB/C) gets the ball, he starts running over the left guard, Rick Clay (HB/C) fumbles, but recovers the ball, forward progress: 1 yards (I-formation vs. 4-4-3) more |
