With the Conference Championship upon us we have now lost Die Verdammten who has followed Budapest Wolves out of this seasons challenge for a place in the Elite League following a great result by Basterds. We also had a surprise defeat for Inbhir Naraan against Flerschem Fliegers who's bad luck in the playoffs just seems to continue.
Basterds face Vienna Falcons in there second all Austrian affair in this playoff campaign while Surprise team Flerschem Fliegers Face SimKonville Fraggles. |

Flerschem Flieger 1) You picked up a shock win against a very good side in the last round, How surprised are you by that result? 1. Yes  im really surprised man. We got a good feeling this season and saw a little chance but i had huge doubts if i really can manage it. And to be honest i didnt expect the first win vs bova in the playoffs. Very proud of it. Real milestone for the Franchise.
2) You play SimKonville Fraggles in the next round Who is now the second favourite for the Bowl. How will you approach such a difficult matchup? 2. Now we are very excited to play this game. We didnt expect to go into the Playoffs, we never thought of winning the Division Playoff... but we did, so now we already exceeded the goals and see a real chance there. As in the last game we will make little chances and try to setup a good defense again. And of cause from this point now we want more and fill something in our Trophy Case!! 3) It’s a Germany/Austria matuchup, Any derby rivalry there? 3. Yes Austria seems very dominant in Thunder. Not really rivalry, we also didnt met the Fraggles often but we want to keep a german team in the Playoffs 
SimKonville Fraggles 1) You overcame Wild Thangs in the Divisional round who picked up a great result against Budapest Wolves in the WC and now a surprise matchup against Flerschem Flieger Who meat Bova, How do you see this tie playing out? 1) obviously, we don't have lots of experience in playing them. Last season's matchup was as close as it gets. It wasn't a perfect game by both of us though. I'm expecting a well prepared team with nothing to lose. It sure will be close. 2) It’s a Germany/Austria matuchup, Any derby rivalry there? 2) I don't see football as a national sport - and furthermore, I have no patriotism whatsoever. Basterds 1) You’ve had a great playoffs this campaign beating some tough teams, Do you see another possible victory against Vienna Falcons? You're right. It was a great experience to proceed that far in both league and sc. Learned a lot! Of course there is always a chance to win bit to be honest the pressure is up to Wiesengrund - i changed a few things on my o side and tried to figure out something about my d. But in the end it's all about execution and the best pb won't work if your players are dropping passes and your d is missing tackles. So let's see, i'm really looking forward to this game and i hope to keep it close and give wiesengrund something to think about 2) Vienna are favourites for the Bowl as things stand how do you set up against a team of this experience? 2. Well, as i wrote above it's about execution. As i see it you have to make plays on both side even with the wrong matchup. I hope i could minimaze wrong allignment but for sure both sides will face it. Thanks for doing this one again! Another massive upset in the play offs. Fraggles again losing at the last hurdle against another totally unexpected opponent! Stuck in 1.1 for another season
Is this a bigger surprise than deflators promotion last season?!? To me it is!! Congrats Flieger!!
