Hill will be posting Group 1 & 2 previews soon - but here are my near to worthless thoughts on Groups 3 & 4 for the final round of group games:

Group 3
LeedsCeltics (2-0, ELO 1206) @ Hebridean Academicals (0-2, ELO 830)
Easiest game of the week to call here. There is no match-up head-to-head where the Accies can feel confident, and the Celtics BIG defensive front seven/eight are just waiting in the trenches to dominate the game. The Celtics have been less than impressive in their first two games, just squeaking through both times, but it should be a comfortable victory this week - in 27 seasons the Accies have never risen higher than a roadkill pancake in this fixture.
Comfortable win for the Celtics: Leeds by 24

Pitcairn Bounty Mutineers (1-1, ELO 960) @ Stockport Sabres (1-1, ELO 939)
The Sabres came so close last week with a perfectly balanced Offence: QB Perryman & RB Mejbri both made good contributions. On Defence, CB’s Kerr and George were even more impressive, hardly withering under heavy attack: between them 31 tackles, only 5 missed and with 2 Ints and 1 fumble recovery. Korberano masterminded the Mutineers offence to fantastic effect last week - QB Essa 67% completions, 3TD’s 0 Ints and all three RB’s averaged over 7 yds per carry - all with lesser skilled players than his opponent. Can Koberano do it again with his no-name offence? You’d be gambling to bet against them even if there is almost a 10 point gap in overall rating.
Very tight methinks, but erring on the side of the Mutineers: Pitcairn by 3V

Group 4
Melittlemenonthepitchinhitchin (0-2, ELO 1019) @ Torchwood Aliens (1-1, ELO 1059)
Hitchin by their own admission have been underperforming as of late. Their RB’s failed to make any real impact and their Defensive front seven not making any in-roads all game last week, save a single TFL. But CB Bryan Adcock again showed fantastic class: 18 Tackles, only 1 missed. Some healthy game-planning required here and also hope that Adcock has his sticky gloves on as well as his super vision engaged - he could be even busier fending off an Alien attack. Torchwood may only be 1-1,but they are running pretty hot. Actually let me re-phrase that: Superstar QB Freddy Pasquet is on fire: last week, 81% completion, 5TD’s & 0 Ints …. That is about as good as it gets unless you’re playing a Robot. On Defence, CB Sorensen is over-performing his skills, and when all of this is backed by some good game-planning as Jack clearly does, it’s difficult to look further than an Alien victory.
Aliens to overpower the vertically challenged: Torchwood by 11

San Diego Blitzkrieg (1-1, ELO 1287) @ Munich Runners (2-0, ELO 1091)
So the ‘krieg are beatable - that’s what we learnt last week. They piggy-backed their two QB’s and both under-performed - which is a shame because they have two very effective WR’s in Valicek and Waters. Their FB’s were the pick of the Offence which is surprising because the OL (and in particular Week 1 standout Lloyd Neil) all went AWOL against the Aliens. On Defence, they REALLY need their stars to step-up, no one made much of an impact in the last game. By contrast, the Runners are turning out to be a hot pick for the Cup - unbeaten in the toughest group, with a smooth running game and solid but effective Defence. Like the Mutineers, the Runners have a great game-planning coach who does well without any star players. Not only are they the lowest rated team in the group, but they even have a lower overall rating than the hapless Accies. Respect from this coach, and food for thought for the ‘krieg.
Runners to spring another surprise, just: Munich by 2

I'll give H1LL5 some help on his take for my match with Bonnyrigg. Points difference will probably be 30plus in their favour. I am a Scottish Resident, but not a Scot (nothing against the true residents of this country) and I have some new players who will be trying out for this game.
Not to take anything away from Jethibs and his gameplan, which is usually quite comprehensive.

Hopefully my development of this squad will have significantly improved by the time we next play this competition.

Thanks for the games guys and good luck to those who reach the play offs.

Bova.

Group 1

Inbhir Narann Elo:898 (0-2) vs Bonnyrigg Bombsquad Elo:906 (2-0)
Narann may not be able to progress to playoff stage, but boy will they want to ruin their compatriots party! Bombsquad grabbing two very effective results so far. Not by massive margins but the scoreboard at the final play is what matters and they should be very happy to be in an almost pressure free position by week 3. That is until they realised their pride would be very much in the balance as with the Accies already out, the Narann are their only hope and claiming Scottish dominance in a 1v1 encounter.
Lifted by the victory over the Foxes securing their place in the next round thanks to this week’s opponents failing to deflect the Icelandic hammer, they will feel quite confident heading into this. The Narann on the other hand will want to ruin their party. First encounter between these two sides and Narann will want to show why they possess an Elite League berth in their trophy cabinet and that they should not be dubbed the Scottish Slouchers.
On the field, ELO and Overall rating favour the Bombsquad and with the way Narann haven’t made an impact this tournament, crossing the end zone twice in total I feel the Bonnyrigg explosion will definitely be heard. But can they pack enough C4? Will the Narann trample through the blast zone? Or will Bonnyrigg need little more than a Catherine Wheel to send Inbhir into a spin? Bonnyrigg win.

Firenze Foxes Elo:1119 (1-1) vs Xythos Proctos Elo:609 (1-1)
Well the Foxes were hunted down last week, and the Thunderclap echoed across the oceans as these two sides had very different results. Foxes expected to sweep this group but now face their backs against the wall as they head to McGee’s frozen fortress. And no, he does not want to build a snowman.
Proctos have nothing to lose here and with developing options in positions sprouting their flexibility from all over their squad Foxes may well have a tough task sniffing out their prey. All the stats point towards a Foxes win. Elo difference, Overall rating and general in-game experience should see the Icelandic hammer be more for nut cracking than deadly combat. But there is one intangible that makes the difference on the night. That is pressure! Firenze cannot afford complacency, even with a lead! He threw one against Bonnyrigg and Proctos were not too far away from raising their arms in week 1 victory. Definitely able to punch above their Elo rating and Foxes definitely shaken up by last week.
But the main question remains…Will the Thunderclap roar once more to take them into a tie vs one of two teams they are MIGHTY familiar with? Have the Foxes licked their wounds and readied themselves for this clinch tie? Was I wrong about McGee and the snowman?!?!?! Close to call, Foxes to sneak by.

Group 2
Adventurers Elo:956 (0-2) vs Limerick Lickers Elo:854 (0-2)
The cutthroat nature of our very competitive groups in this year’s competition showcased here in my opinion with two very talented sides already out. They pushed VERY hard and were both very unlucky to lose their two games so far against the Sharks and myself respectively. Both sides will be looking to go out with a bang and register a win under their belts to boost themselves for the new season. And I am sure this isn’t the last we have seen of these two in the tournament.
Adventurers enter this as the favourites in the statistics and for me are the front runners going into this tie. But the Irishmen are not known to back down and especially not to us from over the way! They have impressed both sides of the ball in their games in particular taking the lead against the Sharks and even forcing a fumble turnover against a well-seasoned Sharks!
But the questions on our minds are, can the Adventurers follow their map to the pot o’ gold? Will the Lickers avoid the taste of defeat? Will the Adventurers drink the champagne, or will there be Guinness swilled that night? Adventurers to win.

Shard End Sharks Elo:1135 (2-0) vs Erdington Doleys Elo:915 (2-0)
The one we have all been waiting for in England’s second city. The game with more at stake that group seeding for the playoffs. The game which will halt any celebration or commiseration from our Conference Championship games the night previous. The game with the highest stake of all…BEER!
The city divides as the two Admirals clash in week 3 of the UK cup and there is only one certainty, our 1-1 record in friendly cups will have a leader by the end of this. The Trident will be filled, the Charlie Hall rammed to the rafters, the streets barren as all gather to take their side as the Sharks cross the collector road, swing past Spitfire Island and dodge the Tyburn for dear life and enter the Erdington Jobcentre. A place not many venture to by choice and not a place many leave with their dignity intact.
On paper and in expectation the Sharks lead the betting in this game. And so they should! An O-Line who would be happily tasked to protect entire cities from a Blitz. A quarterback capable of throwing a ball 30 yards and landing it in an egg cup. And a defence so hard hitting they could stop a moving train. BUT, with no excuses of rollovers or power mode left, can they hold their nerve against a Doleys side who Bwadders knows is more than capable of turning over more than just possession. Comparatively weaker in terms of big names and big victories this season but by no means a pushover, Bwadders will have to pull something out of the Kang locker to pick apart the win he needs. Morrow has faced the Sharks before on both occasions although this will be the first time he gets his fingers on the ball. And he gets to face the number 1 pass D in Admirals 1.1 as a reward.
The stage is set, Group 1 coaches will be watching to see what fate awaits them in the playoffs. Sharks are circling B24 and the Doleys are all released on bail for this important fixture in the season calendar. Many more interested parties keen to see if Bwadders’ experience will trump H1LL5’s Jobless Wonders in the Brawl of Brum. Can the Sharks get a whiff of blood in the water? Will H1LL5 chum the waters to get the Sharks moving to his rhythm? Will Bwadders need another excuse, or will H1LL5 have to sign on himself? As a train driver once said to me: “tell Brad it’s his round”

You got smashed by the spuds yet I lost a close one against a team with three times my salary in a division above you. The pressure isnt on me it's on you to save your season. and your bank balance

My bank balance won't need saving and regardless of who I lost to, you're still the "global bowl winner" expected to romp this group yet find yourself behind me on pd?! Playing the same teams?! I hope your gameplan is good enough or you should be worried if you draw the spuds next year losing to the team who beat them...I might not be the only Brummie mashed by them

Only way there will be an ambush is if the game engine goes totally random cause my 3rd down % is very low for this cup.

I hope for a good game as well Jethibs, but I'm more interested in H1LL5! review of the game.
