Does ELO matter much for Power Mode games?

I don't know, but would expect not.
Of course, we're in Normal mode for this Cup

Ack...this is uber embarrassing. Not sure I should admit it....I've been playing with my power mode depth chart and playbook the whole time!

Not sure why I thought this was a power mode cup - - I guess because most of them are.

San Diego Blitzkrieg (ELO 1300) @ LeedsCeltics (ELO 1198)
Arguably the clash of the giant sides in this tournament. Two very well reputed sides and in terms of ELO it is worldwide 2 vs 6. Definitely going to be a thrilling game! Especially if Steve uses the right chart and playbook this time! One of two previous semi-finalists face off against Uncle Sam’s chosen in the Battle of the Big Boys.

I think the Celtics have had the better tournament so far (inclusive of Steve’s Bwadders like excuses ) and so I am leaned in my heart towards following their largely home-grown squad consisting of only two non-Brits in defence!! He clearly puts a lot of effort and consideration into his squads and his game plans, but he will need all of the game planning ability he has to take on RZA’s most decorated. Blitz on the other hand have seen an opportunity to add a cup from across the pond to their treasury…one they will fondly display to have taken from us. Fresh off a S27 Supercup Bowl win and with the right settings in place now he should be fairly confident against his sadly relegated rival.

On paper, aside from ELO it goes to the Celtics. But only a fool has the bottle to count the Blitz out of anything. I feel a very close game coming on and I am quite excited to see it later on. But a few questions still remain… Can the Celtics us Hategka to his full potential? Will Romero lose his nerve on short again? Will Steve’s sat nav take him to Birmingham or Leeds?! Will there be another Battle of Birmingham?! Can’t ignore my head… Blitzkrieg to win

Firenze Foxes (ELO 1119) @ Erdington Doleys (ELO 911)
Ahh yes, the second former semi finalist faces off against the side who triumphed his bitter rival. On paper this game is an utter mismatch, the sides look very different to each other. But they did back in S24 and Foxes trumped me by only 6. This was a game I expected to be destroyed in and it got me thinking… and this is where my careful preparation to punch above my weight began. And what a place for it to develop to, an exact rematch.

Foxes are the stronger side, they excel in every single area over their opposition. When they have fired they definitely looked good, especially as they squeezed a few more yards than the Sharks in slightly less time. Not many can be more ball efficient than the Sharks, so it shows the prowess their team definitely possess. Defensively they held him to less than 5 yards per pass, a far cry away from the 6.4 yards per rush they allowed Bonnyrigg. So it seems they have picked up a bit and found a bit of form going into the semi finals and they are definitely a team to consider down the bookies for the trophy. A dark horse for sure. As for myself, I am the clear underdog. Inferior to all other sides remaining and I like it that way! As I said it all started with the Foxes and I will give little away as per usual on my plans, but believe me I have some…let’s just hope I can bring them to fruition like in the past. Previous loss to Pub Gang was expected but still hard to swallow… time to test my own confidence.

Foxes beat the side I lost to in groups, I beat the side they lost to in groups. An interesting scenario where group runners up end up in the semi-finals. Shows how strong the talent in this competition is. But a few things are to be answered in this game… Does H1LL5 really have the magic, or am I just lucky? Is it the Foxes time to shine and show how good they really are, or are they just good to look at with no bite? Will Bwadders ever stop running away from facing me in semi-finals of this cup? Tried to remain objective…but I just can’t. Doleys win

I think the Blitzkrieg will edge it too... my lot did really well for the first half, but my secondary is heavily depleted due to my best 3 CBs all retiring...

The guys who have stepped in did well for 30 minutes, but they'll be tired now, and I don't have decent backups to fit into a rotation yet... and against team as strong as San Diego it's looking like a problem.

Not enough today against the Celtics.

I think this team still needs some work....two friendly losses in a row. Getting killed on the lines.

Good luck in the final game JonnyP!
