We have reached the last four games of the season. Some issues are settled, some seem sorted and others still hang in the balance.

Game of the week

Ville Vikings @ Jac Team

Ville Vikings find themselves still in the race for AC South. They still trail Flow Gaming by a win and time is starting to run out. With both teams still to face the unpredictable Xu Da, and Flow still to face a Bot team, this week is The Vikings best chance to get level before the last game of the season which sees the AC South leaders face each other. A loss for Vikings wouldn't necessarily leave The Vikings with no chance but it would be a severe blow.
Jac Team need at least one more win to have any chance of avoiding a relegation battle. They too, are up against the clock. They've won their last two home matches including the surprise 9 point win over The Squales. If they are to avoid the relegation match it will most likely be done today.
This game pits two teams desperate to win. For me Jac Team seem to be finding a level of respectability that if they can stay up should make them a more mid-table team next season. However, Ville have found that level already and must be favourites in this game.

Ville Vikings 16 Jac Team 7

Toledo Tigers @ Basterds

Two teams both on 10-2. Toledo Tigers lead their division by one game, yet they do need to win this game to have a realistic chance of winning their division. There last three games should all be straight-forward and they will be in the playoffs regardless. This game will show two things, 1) Whether they be in a wildcard position, 2) Whether they will be able to challenge the best teams and get a place in the Bowl.
Basterds face a run-in where they face Toledo, then will face Totoras Patriots, Deflators and M. Divers. The run-in will be too much for them to win their division but they will be in the playoffs. They are capable of beating anyone on their day and will be a threat to anyone hoping to stop them from getting promoted.
This is one of the games that seems like a classic on paper, but in reality Basterds should be able to run out the easy winners, with too much all-round for The Tigers to handle

Toledo Tigers 10 Basterds 43

M. Divers @ Bison City Nightcrew

M. Divers have surprised no-one with their charge to the playoffs and will be favourite to promote according to many. A win today may confirm their playoff status but in reality the division will be theirs and they are fighting purely for homefield advantage. Whether they will be able to compete in Elite if they get their is another question. Certainly the embarrassment of a 0-16 season last year must linger.
Bison City Nightcrew still have a mathematical chance of winning their division or competing in the playoffs as a wildcard. In reality they would be relying on other teams slipping up badly, and that seems highly unlikely. The reality is that Bison City will probably be the most successful team in the NC not to be in the playoffs. The harsh truth is that they made it last season but simply haven't improved quite enough to make it this season. Bison City will be looking to threaten next season, and as the seventh best team in NC, they won't need to improve much to make it.
Divers need the win more, and shouldn't find the Nightcrew too much of an obstacle. Some obstacles you want to go around, this obstacle they'll be keen to go straight through.

M. Divers 41 Bison City Nightcrew 3

Wild Thangs @ The Green Machine

Wild Thangs are locked together with LM Pirates on 8-4. I still get a feeling that they both may need to win their last game, when they face each other with The Thangs having homefield advantage. Both teams should be able to make the playoffs, but only just.
The Green Machine continue to impress, last week keeping the powerful Broncos down to 16 points. Unfortunately for The Machine, scoring against the better teams remains a problem. Every game they play, though, points to good times ahead for this team.
Every week The Machine seem to have a game-plan.
These two teams seem to be fairly evenly matched and I've got a feeling that The Green Machine's planning will see them able to pull off a surprise victory.

Wolflings @ Budapest Wolves

Wolfings come off the back of a game that saw them decimate Xu Da. In theory they could actually challenge for their division - that won't happen, but a victory here would point to next season being a very good one for Wolfings.
Budapest Wolves look set to defend the division, this should be the last competitive game they have as they will finish with three easy games to secure the division.
Wolfings domination of Xu Da was impressive but Budapest Wolves will continue to wrap up the division.

Wolflings 13 Budapest Wolves 28

Dayton Tornados @ Die Verdammten

Die Verdammten continue to try and chase down Toledo Tigers. With this game, the first of two left against bot teams, PD should work in their favour. They just need to keep winning.

Flow Gaming @ Severnside Cardinals

Flow Gaming are still precariously perched on top of AC South. With Xu Da seemingly falling away, the main threat seems to be coming from The Vikings. Flow need to assert their supremacy soon though if they are to be saved a 'sudden death' final match of the season against Ville.
At 6-6 The Cardinals are all but out of the playoffs. Looking like potential playoff hopefuls before a ball was kicked this season the Cardinals have let games slip by them. Not helped by a tough schedule they are yet to show that this can be a winning season for them. A mini revival of sorts has seen them win their last two games and with three easier games coming their way, they could make it five.
This is an important match for Flow Gaming but Severnside will be concentrating on pride. I see this as a Cardinals victory.

Flow Gaming 17 Severnside Cardinals 30

SimKonville Fraggles @ Deflators

Deflators, despite being on 11-1, still find themselves in a battle for AC West. This games a foregone conclusion, none of the others are. It could be rocky times ahead for Deflators.

SimKonville Fraggles Deflators w/o

The SQUALES of Beach 7 Steelers

The SQUALES of Beach remain in contention for AC North. Their PD doesn't help nor will their game against the Alligators. A win in this match seems likely to be crucial to holding on to more than just a mathematical chance of playoff games.
Steelers are 6-6 but apart from a 7 point win over Wolfings they have yet to earn a notable win.
The SQUALES need a win in this match, Steelers look unlikely to win again this season but will be happy to have avoided relegation.

The SQUALES of Beach 27 Steelers 6

Inbhir Narann @ Parma Horses

Inbhir Narann are still trying to catch Deflators. Trailing by 1 win and 67 PD they have the two things they need most, 1) a home game against Deflators and 2) unbelievably easy opposition other than that one game. This is the first of THREE bot games they have left. All eyes will be on their next and vital game but a nice win beforehand will not be objected to by them.

Inbhir Narann w/o Parma Horses

Amersfoort Alligators @ Shropshire Swifts

The Alligators are slowly sewing up their division and will be seen as heavy favourites in this match. No matter what happens The Alligators won't win the NC North with this match, but it will be yet another step closer to the finishing line.
The Swifts still only have the one win and relegation seems almost inevitable for them. They have no easy matches and nothing points to a win in the upcoming games.
Not much to say here - Alligators win

Amersfoort Alligators 36 Shropshire Swifts 10

Hucknall Broncos @ Texas Tech

Hucknall Broncos, last game, became the first team to officially make it to the playoffs, courtesy of winning NC West. Certainly it is not the greatest division and The Broncos look certain to go 6-0 within the division by the end of the season. They are currently tied 11-1 with M. Divers for the illustrious top spot in the NC and if they can get hold of homefield advantage through the playoffs they will be a team to be reckoned with. The Bronocos should have no trouble winning the rest of their games.

Hucknall Broncos w/o Texas Tech

Pittsburgh Steelers @ LM Pirates

Firstly we welcome back steeler8643. The Pittsburgh Steelers coach has returned. Pittsburgh aren't having a good season but will avoid relegation concerns with two bot opponents in their final two games. Before those there remains two tough opponents. The Pirates and The Broncos. This week they face the Pirates, welcome back steeler8643!
The LM Pirates will want to try and get a significant lead over Wild Thangs before they meet in week 17. Currently tied on games, and with a superior PD of just 1 they have work to do before they can feel confident of winning the division.
This game has a Pirates victory written all over it, and they need the win.

Pittsburgh Steelers 16 LM Pirates 47

Xu Da @ UNTOUCHABLES

Xu Da have been taken apart in their last four matches, not even managing to stay within 40 points of their opponents. All earlier intentions of the playoffs have been abandoned as the need for any sort of form to return must now be the priority now.
Untouchables have two fewer wins than Xu Da. Those wins have been over Pittsburgh Steelers, Shropshire Swifts and Jac Team. Not exactly stunning victories and they still need at least one more. With Wolfing, The SQUALES of Beach and Budapest Wolves still to come, Xu Da in their current form may be their best chance.
A battle between two teams that are finding it hard to win, this game could go in a lot of different ways.

Xu Da 14 UNTOUCHABLES 22

Chesterton Cheese @ Ramsey Raiders

Chesterton Cheese have been almost useless yet they have three wins and are guaranteed at least one more with bot opposition still to come.
Ramsey Raiders also haven't set the world alight. They, too, have three wins but don't have any guarantees left.
These two teams have six wins between them, four of those wins have been against bot opponents. The Raiders only other victory was against PGI Andorre Solutions. The Cheese only other victory was against Ramsey Raiders. This time though Ramsey are at home and Chesterton Cheese may be the victims, finding that revenge is a dish best served when needed.

Chesterton Cheese 13 Ramsey Raiders 42

PGI Andorre Solutions @ Totoras Patriots

PGI seem to be relegated already. They unfortunately don't seem able to translate any of their potential into wins and are unlikely to be able to change that with the games they have left. Hopefully they can bounce back and season 25 sees a more competitive PGI Andorre Solutions.
Totoras Patriots seem destined for a losing season, yet they should be able to win three of their final matches, starting with this one. JonatanRiver strikes me as a manager that is always planning ahead. Stuck in arguably the toughest division within Thunder 1:1, next season could see a revival of this once successful team and their long serving and respected manager.
PGI have failed to impress all season, Totoras Patriots have impressed all to rarely. Yet, there does seem to be a chasm between what these two teams are capable of - An easy Patriots victory seems likely.

PGI Andorre Solutions 0 Totoras Patriots 47

There was always going to be several seasons of rebuilding. I have never said I was going to be back to winning season form.

I've beaten these opponents on all three occasions, it's going to be a tough game but expecting to win it.
