Our beat writer literally ran into Bovakian as he was trying to get into the facilities where Bovakian gave this candid interview:

Question 1.
You have never been promoted to Elite whilst other newer teams have done this. What are you feelings about this and how much would promotion to Elite mean to you? Are you rather a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond?

Though it would be nice to test my team regularly against the best teams in RZA, I was much happier with the system before the Elite League was created. So to answer your question it would be nice to be promoted, but it is not the be all and end all of my feelings as I prefer to have the regional rivalry here in Thunder and face the others in the Super Cup or CoC Cup.

Question 2.
Deflators are a run-first team and have most rusing yards and TDs in Thunder 1.1. They also have the highest number of pancakes in the division. Your team meanwhile is not really built for a run attack or defence as you prefer the pass more than the run. How are you looking to overcome to mismatch?

Deflators have failed on their run game twice this season, against M. Divers and in their win against us earlier in the season, so that is not all they have in the tank. For myself I don't see much of a mismatch, if you pick the right counteraction for his action then he is stopped, if you don't then you get pounded.

Question 3.
What do you think the key deciding factor in this game will be?

Whoever scores the most points wins. Both team are in the Play Offs and whoever wins this one will be looking to turn it over in the Play Offs, nothing against the other teams in AC, but Deflators and mine are the two best teams in the Conference.

This might have been the quickest two interviews conducted in the history of the GOTW show. A indication of the dedication these managers have to the game!

Here's the interview with IMGregory who met our beat writer on the parking lot of the stadium.

Question 1.
You lost against Divers. For the play-offs this game therefore becomes even more important. How worried are you that Bovakian will rally the troops for this game (ie use GOTY).

Looking at the games left on his schedule, I'm almost EXPECTING him to use it. With BOT games the rest of the way I would use it if I were in his shoes. So I'm not worried about it at all, because I'm more than convinced it's coming and I know what I have to do to prepare for it.

Question 2.
RB Lyle Landry is in the mix for the MVP awards. What would you say is the value of him to your team?

He's definitely the main focal point of our offensive attack. Of course, it doesn't hurt the best O-Line in Thunder 1.1. General rule of thumb is if you allow him to reach triple digits in rushing yards, you're gonna lose. Plain and simple. He's the kind of guy you wish you could have forever, and when he decides to call it a career, it'll definitely change the way our offense works.

Question 3.
What do you think the key deciding factor in this game will be?

Execution. I can do all the preparing I want, and he can do all the motivating he wants, but when it comes down to it, the game will be decided by which team executes better on game day.

Expert analyst smokerteer returns this week with an in-depth analysis of this week's Game of the Week:

Deflators @ Inbhir Narann

Two teams in AC West with 23 wins between them and both needing this win to take the division.
Deflators were the all-conquering team of the season until their week twelve defeat by 13 to Divers. They are now 12-1, guaranteed a playoff place and must be one of the favourites to promote. Unfortunately, even with all these achievements their division is balanced on a knife-edge, and they face arguably their hardest game of the season needing to win, if they are to win the division.
Inbhir Narann are 11-2 having lost by 14 @ Deflaters early in the season, and the surprising defeat while hosting LM Pirates. They may not have beaten some of the better teams by much but the 10 point win over Divers and 6 point win @ Basterds point to a team that can beat anybody on their day.
Whoever wins this game will win the division. If Deflators win this game they will have a two game lead and it seems highly unlikely that they would lose their final two games, despite them being against two good teams (home to Basterds and a visit to Severnside Cardinals). If Inbhir Narann win they will be tied on wins and trailing by at most 65 but with their final two games being against bot teams the point difference will become irrelevant and they will end the season as AC West champions. This really could go either way and the superior playbook will probably make the difference. My philosophy is, if in doubt go for the home team.

Deflators 20 Inbhir Narann 33
