To double check before screwing up before my first game (and every single one after that):

If I start using a PB, I can create offense first but use the standard one even while doing that? It seems like an enormous project and I'm not sure if I can have anything to play a game with in the next few days...

Correct, when you set the match tactics for a game it will ask you which playbook you want to use. Try the new one out in a friendly or scrimmage first and you'll see how it looks.

Unless you have supporter you will be limited to one playbook. The game engine defaults to calling random plays for any situation you don't have defined, which is the default behavior for no playbook anyways. So there isn't much risk in using playbooks. Just make sure to get you special teams (FGs and Punts) well defined. The rest you can build out over time.

Wrong.
Only one Depth Chart for non-supporters, but more than one playbook .

Hi all,

Most of one season under my belt and am now looking at the playbook.

Am I correct in thinking that if my playbook doesn't have a play set for a particular circumstance, the team will make a random play? Or will it default to the standard playbook?

Thanks

No random play neither Standard playbook play.
If a situation is not covered by the playbook, the match-engine will use default orders set in the game orders for each match.

Move to the pre-match game page and look at the lower section where preferences are set for 1st-2nd-3rd-4th down. A formation and action from that set will be chosen, deciding rush or pass with a statistically randomness.

I hope I was clear enough.

Yashin is correct, but its worth noting that the default settings are defaulted to mostly call random plays on office (and 4-3-4 on defense). So it will result in a random play on offense if you don't change your game settings.
