Nobody would force you to buy players...But I need the tax mechanism (based on net gain after expenses!!) to add things like a commisioner. You could than avoid taxes by sending money to the commi, which is a "win win win win". You avoid taxes and can feel like Apple and Amazon, your Commi has money on his hand to make impact and raise your leagues "Karma", 32 managers in league X will benefit from your charity, and the games economy will make a step forward to more healthyness because we add kind of an inflation to the system by adding taxes...

I'd totally be in favor of a cap limit and it would make way more sense than the current proposed tax imo because it would actually prevent teams like mine from fielding a team full of superstars.

- With the current proposed tax I could still find 22 players with 50 skills and play all of them for one season to win the league.
- With a strict limit on how much money can be spent on players salaries I could not.

We are not discussing about a salary cap, we discuss about taxes here.

I respectfully disagree Pete. In my opinion the real discussion we need to have here is "how to limit the financial power of the super rich teams?"

You think the best way is a tax, I think the best way is a salary cap. Why not discuss all options before deciding what the best way to limit the financial power of super rich teams is?

This is about tax. If you want a salary cap go and make your own suggestion. We can discuss tax here. Coming up all time long with "but we should do this instead of the suggestion, or that instead of the suggestion" is really not helpful.

No, nothing personal...

Once more, why are you guys so greedy not to give up a little from your GAINS!

Could someone answer the bold please?

I have no problems with giving something of my gain away, if I have a lot of money.

I have a problem with a limitation on strategies.

I understood that you don't want to have players playing 10 season and building up a billion $ only to play another 20+ season with a little overspending, fine.
With such a tax that would at least get harder, not impossible.
But there are other strategies also, like sell all your verterans and build up with younger or youth players.
Normally that selling happens during the season and the buying happens after rollover, so huge income in one season, big spendings the next season. With the tax you cut that profit somehow.
Sure the players has still to have a lot of money on the account to pay tax accoring to the polled suggestion, but I have to say for this once-in-5-to10-season-push I would be greedy to keep it all.

What still can happen is, that a player HAS all the money and still don't want to overspend too much or nothing. That tax would just shrink the profits, not the overall bank account, which was the intention, but I understood on the other side that you want the money out of the system, so likely to keep the accounts in lower figures.

I think the premium youth acadamy was a great tool to help this. At least for my team it did lead to more spendings and I burned to far 80+ million from my billion dollar account, because of that.
Funny fact, I'm already adjusting my training guidlines and limits to have a more balanced economy, means, at some point I will make profit again.

I would suggest to work more on that front and to give the players something to spend the money on, which does motivate to buy it and which gives a gain at some spot, but does hurt you on the other end.

That is a good point, given this is only for people with 500 Million, you are talking about teams that are probably at least 5 years old anyhow. Unless they are day trading. More likely 10 seasons and to get rid of it 25 seasons overspending.
In the most online games inflation is a big problem. Let us do something against before the game balance is totally broken and the game will die slowly.

No. I made 400 Million in my first 5 seasons. That's with wasting money on Staff and Coaches and Facilities and not doing market trading. 6 season at most to reach 500 Million unless you are wasting money on the TM.

I really only voted against the idea because I don't like signing blank checks. If X was a defined number, I don't think I would have any issue with this proposal. Not that it matters. It passed anyhow.
