It will be interesting to see how all this plays out with the new tax system. I think the market will be lower for the rest of the season as teams sell now before the tax goes into effect. Next season I think prices will be much higher as there will be fewer players available on the market but you will still have to deal with the tax hit as a selling manager.
What do the rest of you think?

I think it will cut down on buying and selling quickly. As 25% will make it harder to make profit doing so.
I know for me I'll be more selective.Knowing that it be harder to get my money back if better option shows up.

When I started I used the transfer market as a way of adding to my income, which helped me both spend in the market and build my stadium and have a fun first season. With this system it'd make it almost impossible to do this.

I have no idea how this will affect the market. Probably make prices higher in the long run.

How many players "day trade" anyways? I sell when I don't need or want a player. If it decreases trade volume, I think it will be marginal, maybe 10% less sales or so.

I agree that there will be an increase in selling for S24, so prices should fall.

Once S25 hits, I assume we'll see less selling initially, as managers work out the best times to sell. Pete has included the Tax % on the sell player button, which will be very useful, as the new rules are a bit complicated at first glance.

The most expensive players tend to be the 19-22 y/o's draftee types, so managers will want to avoid tax on them as much as possible, if they are planning to sell. Better to sell at 5% tax this season than 15% (or more) next season. New players might be more reluctant to sell their draft picks to fund stadiums in S25 onwards, as they'll get less in return.

The salary changes based on experience will also factor into TM prices. Experienced veteran players might actually get cheaper on the TM, as their salaries will be higher.

It will definitely make profiteering on the TM more difficult.

I don't usually congratulate the taxman on what he has done - even less do I say it was a good job but in this case I will make an exception - Well done Pete.

I would buy you a Guinness but probably couldn't afford the tax
