I thought that's what I said, Hunter, but alright.

I figured that's what you meant but I also figured it'd be better to just use a more, I guess colorful example?

By that train of thought Punting is not a very useful skill and intelligence would be the most important thing for a punter. I'm pretty sure that is wrong given how punting and intelligence affect punter rating.

There isn't really much strategy to punting... Thinking you want to do a coffin corner kick is pretty standard. If your Punter is too dumb to understand something that basic, I'd say you need to stop using Ogres as punters.

I mean having a punter who can boom it 70 yards and knowing how to kick out of bounds sounds fine, but is he really worth anything if he shanks his punts half the time and averages 30 yards a punt when you know hes capable of 70? That's basically what a 50 strength punter with 50 intelligence but 10 punting would get you by my interpretation, someone with a ton of talent/potential, but can't figure out how to consistently hit 70, or even 40 for that matter.

INT does influence the rating actually quite a bit, my P is rated as a 3* player since his Punting skill hit 14, mostly due to his very high STR (48) and INT (46)

I don't pay that much attention to my punting game, but I don't think that is accurate. I don't remember seeing shanks. You would have to ask someone who pays more attention to punts.

Your punter has 23.4 for punting...?

And what does a punter with 23.4 Punting, 48 STR, and 5 INT grade out as? You need more than one data point to figure out how much a skill affects the rating. You also need to incorporate Experience, Speed, Agility, etc. to isolate the impact of a single variable.

Well I exaggerated quite a bit but what I mean is that punting is more of a consistency rating, honestly it takes quite a bit of mechanics to punt a ball properly (meaning it'll go more than 40 yards and have decent hang time), one time after a football practice me and the guys were messing around and I tried punting the ball because why not and it would either go high into the air but not travel 10 yards or go about 30 yards but never hitting over 10 yards high, a lot harder than it looks

Like I said, this is your guess. You would have to look at the data to see if your guess is correct. I suspect that it is wrong.

Could very well be, but it makes enough sense and doesn't have enough issues for me in the foreseeable future, so I'm not gonna bother to look into it, really. I'll leave it as is and if something is found, adjust from there

I probably made a language mistake here, I meant to say that my P was already rated 3* when he only had 14 punting, his skill is higher now obviously.

Furthermore I had two pretty similar build players in my YA once, one had slightly better physicals and skills, while the other had 10 points more INT. Guess which one had the better rating at K?

Whatever, I'm convinced that INT makes an impact for K/P, but your obviously free to disagree.
