You are right there would be more opportunities to go up to Elite, but I think Admirals could only be watered down by any mergers. It is already the most competitive league.

Every league has a number of teams stronger than A number of admirals teams in 1.1 every league would have lots of teams stronger than 2.x teams, please explain how this waters down a league. 1.1 would be stronger, 2.1 and 2.2 as well, you are going to have to explain how the league is watered down beyond perhaps one season!! |

Ok. a few thoughts here:
The shrinking idea from 8 to 4 regions, have been proposed before and rejected. one of the issues is match start. Ppl sign up for a region, because the match start suits them. 1 hour back or forth may not be a problem, but beyound that could be. Continuing that would mean a merger of Admirals and Dragons, the 2 regions with most human players (without checking every single 2.x league). That means 3.x leagues in this new region, but maybe only 2.x in the other regions. That could be a problem. Free movement between the regions (at time of merger) could also mean a simular picture, of some regions very full and others almost empty. Im not necessary against a merger, but its not easy. |

Depends on which teams were demoted, but you are still proposing 4 leagues. You aren't suggesting that the top teams from the other leagues should all be merged into Admirals. I am doubtful that there would be a net gain in strength unless top teams were picked to be merged in, or if it was an Admiral /Dragon merger. But there are lots of issues with merging the two strongest leagues together, and you would practically lose the whole "more opportunities to promote to Elite". More opportunities only happen if the competition is watered down. You really can't claim both benefits simultaneously. |

I am sure that the simple solution would be top 16 from two leagues year 1 into 1.1 and then rest into 2.x plus best of 2.c in both leagues filling the rest. Of So that's four spaces a year into Elite and the best of two leagues with stronger 2.x promoting into 1.1 each year replacing both. So that's a very simple way to claim both at once. If we replace the bottom 16 teams in Admirals with random top 16 teams from other leagues, we will be watering down the league, exactly as I stated.

He is just trying to reassure himself after finishing in this bottom 16 last season. |

LOL. That is a good point. I did finish in the bottom 16 in Admirals 1.1 last year. And I could easily beat any of your teams.
